Danced the night fantastic!

As many of you know, I attended the wedding of my favorite nephew to his beloved bride this week-end. I love weddings, but this one was special for me in many ways. Beyond the obvious ability to share this blessing, it was a personal journey for me. My family has not seen me since I had the surgery and I have weighed over 200#'s for all of my adult life. At the wedding I was down to 179 and sporting a slim size 12. I first saw my tiny, size 8 daughter-in-law-to-be Christine ... she could hardly believe it. Soon after that, my 25 yr old sons saw me "average" sized for the first time in their lives. When one of my sons hugged me, he was able to wrap his arms around me and then some. It was the first time since they have beenin High School that I have weighed less than my 6 ft + sons.  Soon after that I saw my sister-in-law who has always been relatively slim ... I'm a good bit slimmer than she is now ... How did that happen? My mother-in-law was nearly speachless. People that I haven't seen in years didn't even recognize me. My new neice couldn't believe the change.

Soon after we arrived at the hotel, Christine and I headed off to the reception hall and church to help decorate. We worked hard for about 6 hours or so and I was fine, not exhausted ... fine, even though I was up at 4 am for a 6 am flight.

On the night of the wedding, I danced, danced, danced .... and danced some more. I had sooo much fun. I bought a beautiful Nippon Boutique suit for the wedding. When I bought about 3 or 4 weeks ago it was a little tight at the bust. This week-end it was just a little big. Okay, but a little big.

I am soooo glad I had this surgery. It has helped to change my life for the better.

Congrats to you Barb!  You deserve every ounce of praise you received!  I only hope that when I "appear" before my family, I will have the same wonderful feeling as you.  All this work does pay off! Nancy

I'm sure that you will Nancy. You are working that band like crazy and have done a wonderful job.

The reaction of friends and family were great, but how I felt ... the stamina I had was just incredible!

One of my sons said that he thinks that I look great, but I just don't look like "Mom" anymore. His brother and sister concur. I thanked him and told him to get used to the new and improved "Mom."

Thanks for your warm support. As always, it's truly appreciated.
