PROGRAM/CONSULTATION FEE

I AM SCHEDULED ON TUESDAY FOR MY EDUCATION SEMINAR CLASS AT HICKORY SURGICAL CENTER.  I'VE READ SEVERAL POSTS WHERE SOME OFFICES CHARGE A FEE?? DOES ANYONE KNOW IF HICKORY SURGICAL(DR. LOWE OR DR. COX) CHARGE SUCH A FEE?  I RECEIVED MY PACKET, BUT I DO NOT REMEMBER IF IT SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A FEE.  MY PSYCH EVAL. WAS YESTERDAY AND THAT SET ME BACK $400.00, SO I DON'T ANY UNEXPECTED CHARGES COMING OUT OF THE WOODWORK.

Welcome!! Your insurance should reimburse you for the $400.  That is very high for a psych eval.  I paid $200 and was wincing about that earlier this year.  But I was fully reimbursed.  The education seminar is usually free.  However, all doctor's charge a non refundable fee.  Mine with Dr. Farrell was $150 which covers costs for followup care and support group meetings.  Be sure to file a claim with your insurance. My insurance actually reimbursed that non refundable fee as well... I was quire surprised

My doctor  charged a $150 fee... but that included 1 year's access to the nutritionist, my fitness exam and nutrition evaluation.
