What helps you to go to sleep

OK..  I haven't had a good nights sleep in a couple of days now... I don't seem tired when I wake up.. BUT I feel like I know I need more sleep.. KWIM? I don't know what it is.. But lately I go to bed at like 4 or 5 in the morning.. and then I get up at 6 or 6:30 .. I NEED some sleep... Do you have a secret weapon you use, when you are tired and need to fall asleep without using pills? Thanks all

Closing your eyes.. lol.. just joking.  I have this problem too but part of mine is due to working 12-hour night shifts.  I have tried all kinds of pills, both natural and perscription but nothing works for me, I just end up with hangover effect for a day.   I hope you find some relief, it is miserable not sleeping! Take care!

Aside from the occasional Tylenol PM the only thing I use to go to sleep is a really boring book or magazine!  I know that sounds crazy but it's true.  I get my room super chilly and get in with a bunch of blankets and pillows like I am in my little nest, all cozy in there.  Turn off the big overhead light and light a candle or a little light (just enough to kind of read) and it doesn't take 15-30 minutes for me to be knocked out.  But if I am really worked up, for a stressful day, or I just can't seem to knock myself down a notch or two I get my Tylenol PM and it does the trick!  I guess Benadryl would do the same thing, but you don't want to take any drugs so those are out.  However, I work full time and have a 3 year old so I am almost always tired, even when I have slept 10 hours I still feel like I could just go to sleep in any available corner.  I am more in need of something to keep me awake than anything else...  SWEET TEA HERE I COME!!! ~misslaurap

A LARGE hammer!   Just kidding.  You can try some sleepy time tea and a really boring book.  That works for me. Good luck. Ellen
