Hello, I was just looking to see if there are any recent lapbanders in the area. I got my lapband done on Monday October 1st and I am going through ups and downs as the days go by. Just wanted to see if there are any locals that I might be able to chat with.

Thanks
Angie

Angie, just wanted to say good morning, welcome and hope you are doing well.  I, also, was banded, but this past July.  I read your blog and what you're going through is typical.  It is hard work, but you can do it!  I didn't see what area you were from, or maybe I overlooked it, and what Dr. you had.  There are a few banders here..stick around and I think they will come out of the woodwork soon enough, lol. PM me if you want to ask anything.....or even if you don't!  Have a wonderful day, and sip, sip, sip! Nancy

Hey Nancy! Glad to hear from a local bandster. I checked out your blog and you are doing AWESOME! Congrats!! As for where I am from and my doctor I am still learning how all of this profile stuff works, I got it on there now. I'm from Morrisville and my doctor was Dr. DeMaria. Just curious how long until you were back to normal exercise? My abs are just aching! Thanks for writing!

Hi Angie, I was banded on 9/12/07, 22 days ago!  It's tough, would love to chat with you.  Feel free to read my blog.  Send me a message and we'll talk! Laurie

Hey Laurie, when do you leave for India? That sounds exciting. You seem to be off to a great start. Are you still sore 22 days out in your abs? I sneezed today and I about cried it hurt so bad. Oh well, I know there is an end to the pain. Glad to know there are some local bandsters.

Hi Angie- I'm Sheila in Wilmington and I'm 7 months post op with my Band. The first month is a lot of changes and adjustments to break previous habits- eating MUCH slower, chew, chew and chew some more ( once you are on mushies), sip until it runs out of your ears ( lol), and walk and then walk some more. ....( I walked 4 miles in the wind & rain on the beach this morning- have I've lost my mind????) It's an incredible journey and the Band is simply a tool- if left sitting idle in the garage in a tool box- it is essentailly worthless- if you approach each day using it wisely, it will change your life! You will be a success in this journey! Take it a day at a time! Sheila

I am a work in progress and I am committed to progress with the work ahead of me.....

Wow Sheila, you are doing wonderful! You are my new hero! I like what you said about the band being a tool, very creative! That must be nice to be able to walk the beach, it makes for a very scenic route. I will remember to chew and chew and chew some more, sip like crazy and walk and walk some more! Thanks for the advice!

Hi Angie! We have the same doctor and similar stats. I'd be glad to correspond with you further. Just send me a pm, and I'll send you my email address. Hang in there. Things will feel more "normal" soon!
