I started my liquid diet today and I made it thru work. Protein drinks and soup is not alot to  have to put in your stomach. But I am determined to stick with it so Dr K will not have any problems with my surgery. One down fourteen to go!

You can do it!  Keep telling yourself that you are worth it.  Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.  What helped me was drinking water constantly and chewing gum.  Each of us is different though. It is important to do this pre-op, as you most likely know, to shrink your liver.  They need it to shrink so that they can do it laparoscopically instead of having to open you up.  The recovery time is less than half with lap. Take care and keep up the good work. Ellen

Own it all, it's yours!

That is what is helping me the sugarfree gum and water. I drank about 60 oz before 1pm. Thanks for your support.

Hang in there! This is definitely not easy, but you CAN do it. I just had my surgery last Wednesday and I am so glad I stuck with it for the 14 days. I wanted to do everything in my power to help the surgeon and I'm convinced every day I made it was a day that helped.

Let me just encourage you with this.  I had my surgery this past Wednesday.  Dr Lowe said that it would take about 2 hours.  The surgery only took about 45 minutes due to the fact that I stayed on my liquids for those 2 weeks.  Dr Lowe said that me being faithful those 2 weeks is what made everything so much easier.  After the first 3-4 days it gets sooooo much easier!  Hang in there, I'm not saying it is easy but it was worth the struggle!!!!!!  Wendy

I was not happy about the two week liquid diet..  But I have to tell you that Dr. K. is a stickler and even told me after surgery what a beautiful liver I had.. LOL   He said that he could tell I had followed the diet because my liver was tiny.  :) The first three days are the worst.  For some ODD reason after I got through the 3rd day the rest was smooth sailing.  :)  Your two weeks will fly by!!
