Hi everyone,
Well tommorro I will be one week post op. I still have some pain in the upper left quadrant but other then that I am fine! I am still a bit tired and cant do much LOL the only problem I have had is I am hungry. I tried to think why am I hungry and I think starting my period the day I got home from surgery has a lot to do with it. I think I will do better also once i get to the pureed part of the diet. All liquid is really really hard. I get my staples removed on October 5th. I hope everyone is having a happy monday and my goal is to try and drink more fluids to make my pouch feel full. I am getting my vitamins and protein in but I still feel a bit yucky and I chalk that up to the monthly visitor LOL

hugs to all,
Darcie

Hey Darcie -

I looks like you are off to a wonderful start. It does get better when you can add something more solid in. I'm sure that you'll find that you will regain your strength soon.

Thanks for posting your progress. Glad to hear you're doing well.

Hey Darcie,

Happy 6th day post-op! It sounds like you are on target. Almost all of us get our periods after this surgery, rather we just had it or not. Sometimes I just want to slap Mother Nature...lol.

I'm sorry to hear you are hungry. That's gotta be hard. I was fortunate enough to lose my appetite and rarely get hungry. I would be thrilled if that lasts forever.

Try not to push yourself. It takes a long time for the energy to return. Take advantage of it and walk-rest-walk-rest-walk-rest and repeat!

Thanks for the update.

I can't see the new picture. I still see the old one. Hey...that sounds like when we lose weight!! Anyway, I know what I look like so I guess I don't need to see it. Strange, though.

Thanks for the nice compliment. You're too sweet....and funny!

Hi Darcie, I am happy to read you are doing better. Cream soups should be right around the corner for you. As far as walking goes I did walk at the hospital and when I got home I walked inside my house because me and the heat dont do well at all. I think I came up with a name for my pouch I am calling it Bubbles LOL. It seems no matter what I eat I get gas so I have been taking Beano and it helps and also when eatting I burp alot but it feels good after I do. All this is very embarrasing for me but hey I can learn to live with it.                              Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

Thanks so much for updating us, Darcie, you have certainly been missed!  Sorry to hear about the hunger, I would keep sipping constantly and of course trying to trick that pouch into thinking it is full!  This is the worst part and you are almost past that now.  It will keep getting better and you will feel stronger. Big hugs to you, Sweetie!

Darc, hang in there!  You can do it!  (weren't those the words you told me? ) lol.  It does feel better once you get something besides liquids in, and that's right around the corner.  I've got to go back on 3 days liquids after my fill next Tuesday, maybe my tat should be sip sip sip, or something like that?  Call when you want/need to.....I'm here for ya'!   Love, Nancy
