1st day at the gym

Friday was my first day at the gym in over three years. I was actually excited about goin back. My husband added me onto his membership and we went together. We plan on goin together everday. :) He's bein really supportive.  I got there and jumped on the exercising bike...it was a lot more work than I thought it was gonna be. I did 15 mins on it though. After that, I went to see about the jacuzzi :) but it was bein cleaned...how can you clean a jacuzzi on everyone's day off of work??? Anyways, I went back up and did 20 mins on the treadmill, then jumped in the pool. It was great. I was SOOO suprised that I did all that I did.  Of course, later on I was hurtin cuz I overdid it, but I'm feelin purty good now. I plan on doin somethin at the gym everyday. :) Just thought I'd share with ya'll. :)  Shelly

Keep inspiring me, Shelley!  I will be going back to work on Oct 2 and we have a gym and trainers at work and I plan on re-joining the gym right away.  Holding myself to that promise is another thing, however...

For some reason, I dont mind goin to the gym this time around...I dont know why its different. I'm actually excited to go..its weird. Also, lately Ive not been hungry...Im always hungry. Even when Im not hungry, if I have the opportunity, I eat...but not lately. I dont know whats goin on, but I like it!! Maybe its divine intervention... If I was closer to ya, I'd definately say lets go together. :p I'll just have to encourage you as much as I can I guess :) Shelly

This is great news Shelly. I know how difficult going back to the gym is after you stop. Once you get the workout bug you will feel really good and get more energy. Sometimes I find all the excuses not to go but I just tell myself I have to go and do it.                                              Annie

For some reason its easy this time...I dont have a problem goin right now. If I do...I'm gonna make myself go. As bad a shape that Im in now, I dont have a choice.

Shelly -

Congratulations! I hope you are patting yourself on the back.

Next time you go exercise, be sure to take about 10 minutes to stretch. It honestly makes all the difference in the world and I'll bet you won't be nearly as sore afterwords.

Thanks Barb :) I always feel like I pull more muscles when I stretch. I dont know, maybe I'm pushin myself with the exercises too much. I'll figure it out. I'll take up your advice and try stretchin tomorrow when I go. Shelly

Great job Shelly!      Exercise will help you out with this. Also it is awesome that your hubby is doing this with you. That support is a great thing to have during this process. Keep up the great work.
