I am new to the board

Hey everybody. I am new to the board and wanted to say hello to all. I have been reading the posts and find them helpful.  Just wondering--any one care to share about their experience with Hickory Surgical Center and Catawba Valley Medical Center? I have just mailed back in my questionnaire to CVMC Surgical Weight Loss Program, have the letter from my PCP, my 5 years worth of medical records and my psych eval and class are scheduled.   It seems like they are trying to "weed out" those that aren't serious about it.   Any way, also curious if any one has BCBS of Illinois and if they presented any obstacles. Any comments, "get a grips", or encouragement would be appreciated.  Thanks ahead of time. Andra

Hey Andra, Welcome to our happy group!  You will find folks here helpful and supportive.  My insurance was UHC, so don't know much about BCBS.  And I went through UNC Chapel Hill.  But I'm sure someone here can help you! Blessings, Dane

hello and welcome to the boards! i'm afraid i don't have any answers to your questions. i'm fairly new here myself and tend to ask more than answer

Hiya Andra.. Not sure about Hickory.. but I can recommend one heck of a surgeon in Charlotte. I have BCBS of Illinois secondary.. (it's my husband's insurance) and they told me at Dr. K's office that they are difficult to deal with.  I am not sure if they said that BCBS -IL did not pay for WLS.. or if they were just a pain in the hiney.  Either way.. I would call BCBS-IL and see what they say. Welcome!!
