Barbara,      It will all be ok. You have seen what you've done and know it can't be an all the time type of thing. just move on and don't beat yourself up over it. I don't think those extra calories are the end. You now have your tool and know you have to use it. Do like Jennifer said and don't keep a whole snickers around. My friend that had WLS says if she wants a snickers she eats about 2  minatures and that does the trick for her. I guess once again moderation is key! Keep on pluggin' away at it. It's all we can do! Thanks for your support and kindness. I have to say that I really am glad that we have one another for support.

What's sad is that I didn't just have the snickers in the house, I actually bought and paid for it! No more!

As you say, it's time to get focused and keep plugging away.

Hey Barb, You know what I like about you most is your forthright, tell it like it is, attitude.  You are one of the kindest, thoughtful people I know.  The only person I've ever seen you hard on is yourself.   I believe it's part of the "learning process" we go through to know our strengths and weaknesses.  It's important (and positive) that we know we could "go back" if we make that choice.  Many folks do!  It is why I am in counseling for food addiction.  I know I need to learn my triggers.  I know I need to learn other ways to feed and soothe anxiety, stress and my food addiction.  Right now I have Bob, my counselor, to talk things out.  I have yall to reinforce what I am going through. So please see that candy bar as part of your learning experience.  We are not "cured."  We have been given a very valuable tool that we need to use to our advantage.  I did the same thing with the peach ice cream.  I fell into diet pepsi's again.  I drank them for a while until I read your post the other day on the harmful effects of drinking diet sodas on WLS patients. I gave up the every day, 2 in my lunch pail, gotta have one close-by, mentality.  I think we grow from these instances. It's all about choices, making mistakes and turning things around.  Now I'm rambling.   Loved your post Ellen!  So right on...  Love ya, Diane

OMGoodness! Those are the qualities I have used to describe you! I agree with your observations about using the tool and making choices. I appreciate the support. I would say it means more than you know, but you know!

Hey Barb.. don't beat yourself up about this too much.  I think.. no scratch that.. I KNOW we are all scared that we will revert to our wicked ways.  When I read the word Snickers I could taste it in my mouth.. LOL  Being a food addict is no picnic (no pun intended.. LOL) Just chalk this up as a learning experience and keep you trucking.  You have come too far!!  And 188 a FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!  I will be jumping for joy when I just get out of the 200's.. :)  Be proud sista!!
