OK, I confess... in my desire to "fit into" this North Carolina lifestyle (why is it we are always trying to "fit into" SOMETHING?), I bought a peck of green peanuts from a local farmer this past weekend and boiled them!  I did look up the nutritional facts on them.  They have protein but they also have a lot of fat calories.  I have been snacking on them more than I care to look at.  And I have felt guilty about it.  I am a salty food addict more than sweets, and the peanuts felt good in the pouch, which is always touch and go these days, but I know I have to be super vigilant and keep the focus on nutrition rather than satisfaction.  You're not alone, Barb!  Start the day over!

All nuts are pretty fatty... it is a good fat... however, a serving is literally a cuped palm full. I was eating a lot of nuts, NUT said to cut back... I love nuts so I just stopped eating them because I cant eat just 10 almonds!!! I love salty food as well... if I am wanting salt I eat some Soy Hearts (lightly salted flavor, the cheddar was bleh), baked blue corn chips (trader joes!!), Chinese Rice Crackers... roasted soy nuts are a good choice.. jus****ch the fat :-)

Hi Barb, I think it was great you could share this with us. That says alot about you and the changes you are making. I try to think of myself as far as eatting goes as not normal. If I were normal and had a good metabolism I would have never become SMO. As you know Halloween is right around the corner and I have thought about candy corn and all the other treats that are going to be in our face the next month. I do not plan on eatting candy corn because I do dump. What I do is I try to remember how it tasted. I actually think I can remember the taste along with lots of other foods I loved. Go forward and try not to beat yourself up because as you know we can be our worst critics.                                           Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

Thanks Annie -

I have to say that I wrestled with whether to post about this or not, but then I decided that I needed your collective support and that I bet that I'm not the only one who has or is going to fall into this hole.

I'm doing much better today as the day and support have moved forward.

I thank you and everyone else for your support.

Love,

Barb

Oh, Barb,      It's not sooooo terrible. I know how you must feel though, but you haven't done any real damage and you are aware of the "oops" you made. Stay steadfast and strong. You will persevere! I have faith in you, my friend. Mare xoxo
