I belong to the YMCA and it has everything including a pool. I am sure there is one in the Durahn area. Or how  about Golds Gym. Good Luck Myrtis

I go to Curves in Chapel Hill and I really enjoy it. I can park go in do my work out and go. I think Myrtis has a great suggestion to check out the YMCA.                                    Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

I am in Charlotte but did not care for Curves. I felt the workout they have wasnt up to my fitness level once I started to lose more weight. The one near me seemed more of a social club than working out... all the woman wanted to talk and chit chat the entire time... I personally like to put on my music and 'zone out' at the gym :-)

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

Extended TT, lipo, fat injections - 11/2011

BA/BL/Arm Lift - 7/2014

Scar revision on arms - 3/2015

HALO laser on arms/neck 9/2016

Thigh Lift 10/2020

Thigh Lift revision 10/2021

I was a member and was bored!  I was not an exerciser much before surgery, but the routine at curves is a 15 cycyle that you repeat twice 3 days a week, not enough for someone who has had surgery and is trying to exercise 5 days a week and get a variety in.   I suggest the YMCA or a local gym, you'll be surprised at the people there, more than not are just like us, overweight and trying to get healthy.  They have treadmills, eliptical machines, pools, lots of different exercise classes for all levels and weight machines.  I am fortunate to pay the same price as curves and get a much more varied workout with longer operating hours and the MOnroe Acquatics & Fitness Center even has a waterpark!   Good Luck, Karen
