Curves???
I am in Charlotte but did not care for Curves. I felt the workout they have wasnt up to my fitness level once I started to lose more weight.
The one near me seemed more of a social club than working out... all the woman wanted to talk and chit chat the entire time... I personally like to put on my music and 'zone out' at the gym :-)

I was a member and was bored! I was not an exerciser much before surgery, but the routine at curves is a 15 cycyle that you repeat twice 3 days a week, not enough for someone who has had surgery and is trying to exercise 5 days a week and get a variety in.
I suggest the YMCA or a local gym, you'll be surprised at the people there, more than not are just like us, overweight and trying to get healthy. They have treadmills, eliptical machines, pools, lots of different exercise classes for all levels and weight machines. I am fortunate to pay the same price as curves and get a much more varied workout with longer operating hours and the MOnroe Acquatics & Fitness Center even has a waterpark!
Good Luck,
Karen
