I'm shaped differently than I used to be ...

You know .... one of the funny things is that I'm shaped differently now, than I was when I was this size before ... Of course, that was before 30 years of obesity, 1 twin pregnancy, and then a 9 lb baby ... I'm also taller than I was before. I'm 49 years old now and stand at 5'6" ... last time I was this size I was in my early 20's and was about 5'3". At any rate, I used to be shaped a lot like Rachel Ray ... Now, I'm not nearly as hippy and seem to have a lot more "upper tummy" Go figure!

Annie -

Thanks for your kind words and invitation. I actually belong to a Curves near my home.

My husband has banned me from getting any taller ... LOL ... really, when I started dating Ben I was just over 5'1", when we got married I had soared up to 5'3" and I was 5'4" when my sons were born ... and I was in my mid-20's. By the time I was in my late 20's I was measuring 5'6". My sister didn't believe it, because she had been taller than I for quite a while. I had to get my Dr. to write it down on a note! I'm sure that I won't be growing any taller, but I feel like I look taller as I get slimmer ... LOL.

Take care friend,

Barb

Barb- I have had the exact same observation. I was always smaller in tops and bigger in bottoms- 18 shirt, 20 pant......Now all of a sudden, it appears that I am smaller on the bottom than in the chest....My size 12 bathing suit fits perfectly to cover the girls, but absolutely sags in the butt. My backside has dissappeared= it's flat, no curves, no nothing.....it very odd getting used to.... But- NO COMPLAINTS- it's all changes for the good..... I am also surprised at how much fat is on my lateral chest wall- under the arm pits.....everything seems to shrink, but not here......go figure...... It makes imagining what the final result will look like at goal wt anyone's guess????..... Sheila

I am a work in progress and I am committed to progress with the work ahead of me.....

I'm glad I'm not the only one! A long time ago, my mom shared a cartoon with me. I'll see if I can describe it because it sounds like what's happening to us. First frame: You see a voluptuous, buxom woman arriving at the office first thing in the morning. Second frame: It's lunch time and the woman's figure has settled and is a bit thick in the middle. Third frame: She's leaving the office and is definitely pear shaped. Last frame: She's setting her alarm for the morning. She's doing a head-stand while she sleeps so that all of her "sand" will shift to the north again.

If only I could get my sand to shift where I wanted it to go!

I do wonder what I'll look like when all is said and done ... I doubt that I can rely on historical perspective at this point.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see ...In the meantime, I'm going to have to do some extra work on the legs and glutes!

Barb, You are absolutely right!  The way I am losing weight is totally different than when I was on Jenny Craig or Weigh****chers!  My body  is melting like a candle, ... face, neck, shoulders... My legs below my knees are skinny, but my thighs are not... usually lose my thighs first.  My belly is down 18 inches!!!!! That's the only thing I measure.  My hands feel tiny and almost weightless.  They usually stay fat to the end... well I never got there LOL.  And I feel taller.. I can reach things on the top shelf of my cupboards and I never could do that before!  I have been going to the Chiropractor because this rapid weight loss has thrown my back way out of alignment!  But it's all good! Love ya, Diane

Through God ALL things are possible!

You guys are funny! I can't wait to see what my body looks like, though I am also afraid of the damage I have done. I was very tiny until my 20's, then...well, I guess I got hungry...VERY hungry apparently. Can't wait to see the shrinking me, at some point. I hope it looks a little familiar, at least. Scary... Congrats to all of you who have had your surgery and are watching the amazing changes in your WHOLE self, not just body. I'm proud of you guys and inspired by you all. xoxo Mare

SO we aren't crazy.  The same goes for me also.  Now I lost down from 222 to 145 about 12 years ago and I certainly am not losing the same either Some things I am in sooner now than that time.  I am down to 196 or up to 202 it doesn't know where it wants to be this week yet I had to be around 170 when I wore my husbands jeans last but I can do it now!  I know my thighs are smaller, no butt (but never had one when I lost anyways) but this time it's like one day I had boobs and the next, well I roll em up and drop them in!  I never lost too much up top and was always large breast but not no more.  I wondered about this issue also.

OMG ... ROFL! You are toooo funny!

I still have a chest ... It's been moving steadily south, but I still have it. Normally, that's where I loose first. Go figure!

Thanks for the laugh.
