Help! How to get rid of gas post-surgery?

Hi everyone.  I had my Lapband surgery yesterday, and today I feel full of the gas the  doctor uses to expand the stomach.  Does anyone out there know hos to get rid of the awfu; gas?  Any help is  welcomed.    Barbara

Most of the advice I have heard has been to walk, walk, walk.... and use Gas-X strips.  Hope it helps.

Thank you.  I will try that.  I walked on 3 separate occasions today which totaled one hour.  It seems to help.

Yes, walking and getting around is the best thing for gas. I'll get it on occasion (sp) and I have to get up and go for a walk. Good Luck!!!

The only thing that help me after abdominal surgery is walk, walk and walk some more....  sorry there is no easy answer to this one....  get better soon! 

Thank you.  I did manage to walk my 60 minutes today       by breaking the hour into thirds.

You should be walking every hour even if it is just to get up outta bed.  But do walk til you are tired.  It will improve quickly. Otherwise, I hope you are feeling good.

I also had lapband, and I used gas-X chewables, the Dr. said  it was ok.  Other than that, all I can say is, "there's more room outside than there is inside".....nuff said. Mine lasted about a week.  Good luck with your band, everything will fall into place.  Hang in there! Nancy
