official mess up

I have had a terrible day. Weeping for no reason. I am questioning my job, marriage, wls decision, friends, everything.  I'm just tired of a lot of things and took out my depression in my first big mess up since banding.  I went thru McDonald's drive-thru (handiest place) and got a caramel sundae and ate the whole thing.  I feel no better, just sick.  Cancelling exercise tonight, no frame of mind.  Am choosing bed and maybe a book.  Tomorrow is another day.  I just had to get this off my back.  Thanks to those that are listening. Nancy

You're totally right - tomorrow IS another day. Sounds like you need the book and the "me" time to me. Promise yourself that next time you'll do the book and maybe a nice hot bath and skip the sundae but don't beat yourself up :) Hope you feel better Nancy (((hugs)))

Hi Nancy,

Don't beat yourself over eating the sundae. I think the difference between skinny people and overweightt people is that skinny people eat the sundaes and other stuff but do so in moderation. A small sundae once in a while will most likely not hurt you. Moderation is the key. I have learned that overweight people often obsess about food and eating the sundae will often defeat us and send us to just saying "ooppps I've messed up" and then we go off and eats lots ofbad stuff since we've blown it( in our eyes) so to speak. I think the key to our successful weight loss and maintainingthat loss is to learn moderation. I think at one point we should be able to have something we want but everything we eat can't be bad if that makes sense.  I look back and I seemed to have done everything in excess. Too much of most foods can be bad. Portion control is key. I hope that is what we can control with the banding and the RNY. Take care and things will get better. Don't question why you have done this. You made a great move to be healthy. Everything will be better soon. Tomorrow is a new day. Lisa

Nancy I am sorry you have had a bad day. Cheer up tomorrow is a brand new day and you will be here to see it. I think by coming to the boards and being open about the sundae says alot about you as a person. we all make mistakes and we all learn from them. Sending you love and light.                                            Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

(((((((((((((NOODLE!!!!))))))))))))))))))))) I am so sorry you had a crappy day.  One sundae does not undo all the great stuff you have accomplished, Nance.  It was just a day.  You already tried to punish yourself enough by eating the sundae,  Now don't go punishing yourself FOR eating it too! Don't even doubt my friendship, ok?  Love you!

Nancy -

Lisa is soooo right. Tomorrow is another day and I think that she's also got about not letting the sundae define your weightloss journey. Read your book, take care of yourself and just keep putting one foot in front of another.

It is sooooo normal to be questioning the WLS where you are in your journey. You did the right thing for yourself. Get out your list of reasons for doing and look it over. You'll see that you did the best thing for yourself, it's just hard right now. The good news is that it will get better.

PM me if you want to "talk."

Hang In There   I know you're beating yourself up, but try not to.  Everything in moderation is key and one little sundae isn't the end.  Tomorrow IS another day to start fresh!!  Chin up!!
