More About Kidney Stones...
i don't know if this will help you any or not, but when my mom found out she had kidney stones she did alot of research etc. she has the calcium kind. (forgive me for not knowing all types of technical terms here hehe) she found out that putting alot of citric acid into your diet helps alot so she drinks alot of lemonade. she had alot of stones there for awile 5 yrs ago. and actually had to have whatever surgery it is that breaks the stones up 2 times i think. since she got rid of all those stones she has not had anymore. i don't know if drinking the lemonade has anything to do with that, but it certainly doesn't hurt to try.
"This random sample of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery patients developed a marked increase in urinary oxalate excretion, a significant reduction in urine citrate excretion and a resulting increase in calcium oxalate supersaturation within 12 months postoperatively," he said.
Thanks for this tip, Jenn. Definitely something to think about! I was also thinking that acidifying the body and the urine would help with this kind of crystal. People take Cranactin, a cranberry based supplement, for this reason, but Vitamin C also helps as do acidic liquids like lemonade. It is also important to maintain high levels of hydration.
Thanks again for the info!
