I'm new!

Hello everyone! I have been browsing profiles here for a while, but finally created one myself.  I just finished my last pre-op appointment yesterday! I meet with my surgeon on October 1 and hopefully will have surgery scheduled for sometime in October!  My doctor is Dr. MacDonald with Southern Surgical in Greenville, NC and they seem optimistic that it will be that soon.  If any of you have been to Dr. MacDonald, Southern Surgical or ECU here in Greenville, please let me know I'd love to hear how your experience went.

Hi Melinda and welcome to the board!!!!!!!! I am with Southern Surgical and my surgeon is Dr. Mann who is your doctors business partner. I am having my surgery next Tuesday and Im soooo excited!!! so far the office staff at Southern Surgical were fine... it was the bariatric Coordinator I was working with that I had all the problems with. Since I live a hour and a half away from Greenville I work with Southern Surgicals Coordinator and basically I did all the work but thats ok, Im totally past that part and next Tuesday its my turn!!!! hope everything works out great for you.

Hi Mindy,  I fairly new here too.  I am waiting too to get my surgery scheduled.  My surgeon is Dr. Chapman.  He use to work with Dr. MacDonald when Dr. M was at ECU.  I hear they are all good.  McD and Chapman have the most experience.  I have been very impressed with the folks here in the NC Message Board.  I have learned a lot just by reading.  It's really nice to be able to cruize and learn and get comfortable with the site and all the nice folks.  I have been waiting for over 3 weeks since my last eval apt to get the "decision" visit scheduled.  There is a computer glitz with the hospital's new Healthspan system that is holding me and several others up.  It is very frustrating but I keep reminding my self that this will happen in God's time, and I need to patient.   Keep us posted on your progress!   Good luck!  Alice
