Anyone on this board had the VSG surgery?

I'm seriously considering VSG instead of lapband. My surgeon doesn't even want to discuss it with me, though he has experience with them - so now I am probably lookin for another surgeon. Dr. Pirello and Dr. Voellinger in the charlotte area both do them - does anyone have any comments on either of those docs? I feel like the docs must get a kickback from inamed for lapband or something? I don't know. I hate that I paid the "program fee" and now am switching argh but I really feel like the VSG is a better choice for me, with my lifestyle.

i don't have any experience with Dr Voellinger personally. but, i did not like my experience with his office. i spent thurs and friday speaking, or trying to speak, with them several times because i was interested in the DS procedure instead of RNY and only Dr Voellinger does it in NC. i spent over 10 minutes on hold without even talking to someone first.....phone was answered with hello, can you hold. and then no one ever came back. when i hung up and called back i finally got to speak to someone-tho not the person i wanted. and basically found out they require alot of non refundable (not submitted to insurance) fees. that basically gave me the idea that they are all out for the cash they can get out of you instead of helping with weight loss. that's just my personal experience and opinion.
