Still Waiting for Approval/Denial

I am still waiting to hear from my insurance company and it is KILLING me.  The anticipation is the worst.  If I am denied, fine, I'll deal with it.  Just sooo ready for a decision.  I have BCBS PPO and my doctor faxed everything (41 pages) to the insurance company on 8/31/07.  I hope to hear something by the end of the week.  The doctor was talking about scheduling me for surgery next week if I get approval.  YEAH!!  Please keep your fingers (and toes) crossed and pray for God's guidance and wisdom to be present during the insurance decision process.  I'll post as soon as I hear something, talk to you soon and have a FANTASTIC day!! I also Have BCBS PPO (state Employees) and got my word one week later. It should be forthcoming soon. I think they are a quick approval company. Good luck. I hope you get a quick approval, Laurie.

Good luck to you Laurie, my stuff was sent over the day before yours to my insurance company and I just got the green flag so you should be next!!!!!!!!! I know how nerve racking it is and Im sure you will be approved real soon!!!

Hi - Anyone had revision surgery?  I had WLS over 20 years ago. lost a lot of weight, and eventually gained it back.  I feel that I am more mature and smarter now and want to have it done again.  Anyone done this?  Would love to hear from you.  Janice

Laurie, Have you given BCBS a call?  It might be that you are approved, and your Dr. just has not had a chance to call you yet. Lori

I have BCBS PPO (State Employees) and they approved me in one day.  You may want to call them and just check in on your authorization.  From what I can tell, BCBS is one of the most gracious insurance companies when it comes to WLS.  :)  That is.. if all of your ducks are in a row. 

If you havent already, I would call and make sure they have received your request and have it on file... if so you can find out the date it was entered (sometimes they get behind on processing the paperwork to get to medical review). If they have I would just call back every few days and check up on it.

I just called the doctor's office and wouldn't  you know the Bariatric Coordinator is "no longer employed with them."  I left a message for whoever was handling my case.  So I called BCBS to make sure they received everything they needed.  The customer service rep told me it was being "reviewed".  I'll try again tomorrow!

  and my toes too. The waiting is the killer, believe I know.  Hopefully you'll  hear soon and know one way or the other.  I'll pray for the one way when they say YES!!   

Hey Laurie.  I think BCBS is one of the best insurances.  I got my approval the same day over the phone, but I have a pre existing clause.  That made me have to wait until December.  But, I am not mad at them.  They approve a lot of people and support WLS.  I have everything crossed! hahahaa.  Good Luck!
