I have had cold feet for years in fact my DH says I am the only person he knows that uses an electric blanket in the summer. Well the electric blanket has not been used for days now. I am sticking my feet out trying to cool them off before I can fall asleep. Has anyone else experinced anything like this? I am thinking maybe my circulation is getting better.                                                Annie

In the four-six weeks post op, I ended up having night sweats.  My surgeon's nurse said that she has seen this happen from anesthesia in the past.  On the other hand, I did not need my prempro for my hot flashes from menopause until about 12 weeks out.  So yeah, all kinds of stuff can happen, both generically post op, and after WLS as well.  Also, I have had folks mention that my feet look more red and less purple, so it seems I have better foot circulation.

Hi Robin,

I have had some periods of just getting hot during the night they dont last long.

Before surgery I had my FSH level done to see if I was in menapause the level  came back as 9 and my doctor said if I was in menepause my levels would be 40 or over.

I know that fat produces lots of estrogen so I am wondering if my levels have changed since I am loosing.

Like Robin, I had night sweats for a couple of weeks post surgery.

My husband laughs because he says it can be freezing out and I'll have tons of covers on, yet I have my foot peaking out. I tell him it helps keep me body temp equalized. LOL.

Hope you are having a great day.

Hi Annie, There is a reason I left Connecticut almost 30 years ago.  It is very cold up there.  I spent (for the most part) the first 20 years of my life cold.  From late September to mid June I always felt chilled to freezing cold.  The bedrooms upstairs were not heated, except for what heat rose from downstairs and those wood floors were like ice in the mornings.  Even in the summer time I sleep with socks on.  If my feet are cold I cannot sleep.  I am going to visit my son in Connecticut for Thanksgiving and I am already shopping for thermals, wool socks, sweaters and coats. brrrrr brrrrrr brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr dianef
