Sunday night

Last night we went out for dinner at a seafood place not far from home. Lee and I were able to order one meal and I was able to take what I wanted on a empty plate. I am pretty sure I got over excited about the popcorn shrimp and endured several minutes of agonizing discomfort. As for the coleslaw that was my best friend last night. Also I dreamed about eatting a huge piece of cake with frosting. It was so real I could taste it and feel the texture of it. In my mind during the dream I kept thinking "why am I not dumping". When I woke up this morning I was so relived to know I just had a dream and did not really eat cake with frosting.                                                    Annie

OUCH!  So sorry you had that experience at all, let alone in a restaurant.  I am familiar with the sensation you are describing and all I want to do when it hits me is to lie down on a cool floor. As for the chocolate cake, looks like you got a "free ride"!  Enjoy!

Annie...... I haven't went out to an official resturant yet but I bet it felt good to be "normal" again.  You're lucky they didn't charge you a plate, I'm afraid if I go, they will want to charge me, and even at a childs portion, it's a rip-off considering how much we can eat now.  Hope the shrimp settled of afterall.  As for the cake dream, have you also noticed that you have really bizarre, seemingly real dreams since this surgery?  Boy, I sure have, lol.  I just gotta ask, was the cake delicious? drool drool..........Hope you have a wonderful day! Nancy, I used to have a great passion for birthday cake with lots of icing after all the icing was the best part LOL As for the dream the cake was wonderful just as I remember it to be. I can remember most foods and how they tasted I can even remember how milk chocolate tasted and I seem to be just happy remembering how it was. Our bill came to 39.00 just because I did order two crab cakes to go. They have the best crab cakes I have ever had and the wonderful thing about them is they have no bread as a filler 100% crab meat and crab goes down really good. I know on OH there is a place you can order a card to carry with you stating you have had wls and you are not able to eat a full meal. I am thinking about ordering one or two just to have in case there is a problem at a resterant.                                             Annie

Annie, your surgeon may be able to provide you with such a card.  I know that Dr Harris does and I intend to ask him for one once I am eating enough to even consider eating out!  LOL Give your Bullies a hug for me and save a big one for  yourself!

Mmmmm.... Crab cakes are one of my favorites!  Where did you go to the "the best crabcakes ever?"

I think dreaming about cake must be the best. That way you get to have your cake and eat too ... without the nasty side effects. LOL.

I'm sorry about the incident with the shrimp. This difinitely is a learning experience.

I'm finally starting to "learn" when I'm "full" and to quit eating, even if what ever is in front of me looks soooo good.

Keep dreamin'!

Barb, The place we went is called Capt Johns Dockside. If you like crab cakes then this is the place to go. Diane was going to go with us yesterday after church but some things came up. She still has a rain check to go there with me so depending on your schedule and if Fearrington Village isnt to far we could plan on going just let me know what works for you and maybe Diane could join us then also. I know they are open for lunch on Sunday and close at 9pm. I am not sure about dinner time because of Lee's new schedule at his store. If we get there before 5pm you get a 20% discount and as I said earlier they are good about splitting an order. Since I am homebound at this time I will need a ride there. I am so looking forward to getting a call for my eye surgery. The eye doctor's nurse should call tomorrow.                                            Annie

Annie -

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a place to visit. Maybe we can set something up. We'll have to see what we can do to include Diane.

I look forward to hearing that you'll be having your eyes taken care of soon.

Take care,

Barb

Hahahaha, that is funny about the cake.  Maybe that satisfied any craving you may have had, without the dumping...yay!  I think it is good that you went out to eat.  I have heard people say that they don't even have to order food.  They can just take a bit off of someone else's plate and ve full.  That is great.  Next time take it easy on the shrimp.  hahahaa.  Hope theings are going good with you!  Take care.
