Hi Mare, Try taking it easy and try not to worry to much . I worry too so I know how hard it is to try not to do. I pulled a muscle in my stomach years ago and it was painful. As for taking care of your guy I feel for you. men can be horrible patients. Do the best you can and hopfully Michael with be back to normal  soon.                                 Love & Light,                                       Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

LOL Thanks for the chuckle, Annie. You are so right about men. Fortunately, mine isn't a baby. He's just a hard man to keep down. Loves to work and when not working, working in yard. Ants in his pants, I suppose.  Hope you're doing well. Say hello to Lee. Hope to meet you both someday soon. xoxo Mare (Any new "babies" lately?)

I got my first umbilical hernia after a lot of coughing from the flu. It wasn't very large at first but I eventually had to have it repaired. I have had two more in the same place since then. One was an emergency surgery in the middle of the night because it kinked up and I was in terrible pain. The surgeries weren't too bad. I hope the mass is nothing but tissue. The doctor once told us our son had a mass and it was just scar tissue from Crohn's disease. Best of luck to you. Beth

Hi Beth. I am actually feeling a bit better. My belly button is the only thing really sore right now. Doctor said with my weight it may cause more damage than good to have surgery. We'll have to wait for CT scan results to make sure that's all that's going on in there.  Hope you're doing well, honey Thanks for your kindness. xoxo Mare

Hmmmmm......Mare.....here's my blonde thoughts of the "mass"- I suspect it's nothing or even a continuation of the hernia- muscle edge where the tear occurred to allow hernaition- but, being the optimistic that I am- darn this seems like the possible perfect opportunity for your PCP to send off a letter to your insurance stating ( ie- begging) for medical necessity for WLS. It just seems it can not hurt to try.....Yeah, yeah- I know your darn exclusion cluase- but just 1 year ago BCBS had yet to pay for a LapBand and now they literally are granted insurance approval in a mattter of days. Heck- if they seriously looked at the side effect of your ACE inhibitor ( nagging cough) and what a hernia repair may cost them- it behooves them to help you get healthier and possibly off some of these meds..... I do not mean to put the cart before the horse- but I really feel the mass will prove to be nothing serious.....JMHO..... Keep us posted- try not to climb the walls and I will certainly say a prayer for both you and DH! Love ya gurl! Sheila

I am a work in progress and I am committed to progress with the work ahead of me.....

Hey Sheila,  Thanks for writing. I tend to agree with you, that it's all hernia. But they love to put those ideas in your head, then keep you hanging...especially on a long weekend. I do plan to do another round with the insurance company, but gotta get my man back on his feet first before I'll have the strength to battle them AND him! LOL Geeze, he's a handful. Not a whiney boy at all, but gotta keep an eye on him and make sure he's staying off that foot. Doc said nothing but air under it for about 4 months! (Oh, Lord!) Hope you found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend. Love ya, friend! xoxo Mare

((((Mare))) We have all been concerned about you.  I am sorry to hear you have been going through so much!  I had an umbilcal hernia after the birth of my daughter ... ummmmm 30 some years ago!  They repaired it with surgery.  I certainly know how painful that can be.  Many prayers are going out to you for healing today!  I'm also praying that your doctor can find a more suitable medication for you where you won't be coughing. And prayers going up for Michael too, for healing and comfort, where is foot is concerned.  You are an angel  and Michael is blessed to have you! Keep well, we love you and miss you here! DianeF

Through God ALL things are possible!

Thanks for all your prayers, Diane. It means so much to both of us.  I gotta tell you, I look at your picture and cannot imagine you being old enough to have a 30 y/o daughter. But look at your mama. You have good genes, God bless ya. Hope things are going well with you. xoxo Mare
