I'm at work....  And it was going good until my head started hurting again.  I don't know what to do.  I work 12 hour shifts and I don't know how I'm going to work this fluid and food schedule out.  I work 3pm to 3am.   If anyone has any suggestions that could help me, that woud be great.  I have appt with nut on Sept.5 so of course I'll ask her. All I know is right now my head is killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Dana, I'm sooo sorry to hear that your head is hurting so badly. Please be sure to stay hydrated. You basically need to sip constantly to get in enough fluids. I hope that you can do that while at work.

Please keep us posted and let us know how you are doing.

All the best,

Barb

But if I constantly sip,  what about foods the Dr. wants me to try?  LORD, can I ever get this thing together?  I hope so.

Just thought I would mention that I have not had surgery yet, and I live in Charlotte too and this weather going through is KILLIN ME. Sinus and migraine hell today... maybe its not hydration related?

I'm gonna call my PCP tomorrow and see if he can refer me to a neurologist.  B/c I have migraines from a brain injury back in 1992.  But I only have them once or twice a month.  But after surgery it has been everyday.  I can see.

Dana dear,

I am so sorry about the headaches!  You really need to see your PCP today.  Headaches are a clear sign of dehydration!  This may not be the case, but either way, you need to tend to it TODAY.   It could be food, sugar withdrawal, stress or physiological... like from your accident.  Please let us know what the doctor says.  I am praying for you! Hi, I called my PCP and I can not get an appt until Sept. 13, he's out of the country.  I can see someone else but I feel more as ease with my PCP.

Donna, I also work 12-hour nights (7pm-7am) so I understand how hard it is to stay on a schedule.  I hope your headaches go away soon, they're no fun!  Just make sure to sip, sip, sip so you stay hydrated.  I find that if I eat before I come to work and then again about 1/2 way through I do my best, I actually used to set my phone alarm to remind me that it's time to eat, now it's just second nature.   I am 5 years out but have had to re-adapt to this schedule since going back on nights.  It's tough for sure!  Anyway, I wish you the best, try not to get too frustrated!   Take care!!!

I would focus on getting in the water and the protein shakes... especially if you are having headaches. Yes you should be trying foods... but its more important to get in what you can and work it all out later :-) Do you have a lunch and two breaks during your shift? If so can you shchedule them for set times so you can eat then??
