What moves you today?

I hate to exercise, but I had being fat even more. I'm looking for ways to get moving. Here's some of what I've been doing. I'd love to hear what you've been doing.

Walking outside

Walking on the treadmill

Dancing to a DVD

Curves

I wear a pedometer every day to track my steps. I found out that I walked a mile at Target... idn't know that Target could be a good place for exercise! LOL.

There are so many things they label as 'exercise' these days that you have so much fun doing you dont even realize! There is hip hop aerobics, hula hoop classes, cheer dance, boot camp, strip aerobics... you name it they have it! One of my fav things to do post-op was mall walk... plently to see and in the a/c - cant beat that! Here is what I have been doing lately Jogging at different local parks walking to the mailbox, to the pool, to my apt complex office instead of taking the car basketball tennis batting cage swimming weight training yoga

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

Barb, An idea I really enjoy is bike riding.  I bought a cheap bicycle the the white wall tires and wide seat.  I get great exercise, feel the breeze from moving a little faster, and get to see more.  I occasionally pack take it to a local park with trails and ride there.  You don't have to go fast to get great results and pretty, cooler weather is right around the corner.  SOme parks even rent bikes. I've been thinking about trying a bike again. I must have come in at the end of the line when God was giving out "balance" ... The last time I tried to ride I was about 60 lbs heavier and nearly killed myself ... LOL

It might be time to try again.

Hi Barb!  I hate exercise too.  But we have a new Health Coordinator at work.  She has started a wellness program.  We all have pedometers.  It is fun to see who gets the most steps per week.  I do the tred mill too.  I hate that thing so much.  I love to dance.  I want to try a yoga dvd.  I did tabo some.  It is hard, but works.

I love Target and went I get to go there I just get a cart to help with my balance and start to walk. I have been trying to walk more at home outside and have found it is getting easier. I used to be very active in a NIA class it is similar to a dance class but has 3 levls and anyone can do it. I hope to return to doing NIA after my eyes gets fixed.                                           Annie
