Thanks Annie, I was counting my oz and writing them down,  but then I lost track.   I have been drinking 2-21/2 bottles of water which equals up to about 48 oz or a little more.  You continue doing good too you hear.  LOL  Talk to you later, Dana

Hey Dana -

I'm sorry to hear that you were so dehydrated. I guess it's a good reminder to be careful of the heat and exercising outside ... just that we have to be extra careful about staying hydrated. I'm so glad that you went to the ER and they were able to get you well again. Please be gentle with yourself.

Best regards,

Barb

Thanks Barb, I went to the ER where I work and they took very good care of me.  I think I am holding off on walking outside for awhile.  I'll just ride my exercise bike and eliptical. Talk to you lter, Dana

Hi Dana, It seems like Gatorade used to have a light version but I can't find it to save my life.  I had one episode of problems that were related to too much walking and not enough water and that was enough for me!  So now I've found the Smar****er and Crystal Light Hydration single-serving tubes.  In addition to getting water, these also replace electrolytes like Gatorade, but without all the sugar.  If I'm at home I drink a little out of the 20oz Smar****er and pour in a protein bullet.  So I get 42 grams of protein and 23 oz of water during the first part of the walk.  I also have half a bottle frozen and refill that before I leave.  My wife takes the frozen water out of the fridge at 30 minutes and puts it in the mailbox.  When I swing back by the house at about 30-35 minutes I swap the empty for the new bottle.  By the time I get back home I've had 43 oz of liquid during the walk but I'm still thirsty enough to drink the rest of my fluids during the day.  I also walk through people's lawn sprinklers if it's really hot.  If you can't shed the heat, you gotta stop and the water keeps me cool. When I'm on the road I add the Crystal Light Hydration to a plain water bottle.  Of course that's usually on a hotel treadmill in the air conditioning so there's not nearly as much water loss. Thanks for posting!  I needed to read this that week I overdid it and nearly ended up in the ER.  Maybe it will help someone else avoid the same problem.  So glad you caught it before anything really bad happened!

Where do you find the Crystal light hydration? Myrtis

At my grocery store.  It's with the other Crystal Lite but it's in single-serving straws and comes in a box instead of a cylinder.  Some other brands like Propel also provide electrolytes but I kind of like the Crystal Lite orange flavor and haven't tried the other ones yet.

Thanks T-Rob, I'm gonna make a trip to Walmart to get some of that Crystal Light.  You have a great routine going on there.  Keep up the good work.  90lbs wow, how did it come off so quick.  Share your secret... Dana

Well, only 60 of that is post-op.  If you want to lose weight real quick, it helps to start our male and at a really high weight.  I saw a TLC documentary on a 1,200lb man who went on the Zone diet and lost 380 lbs in 4 or 5 months.  Of course, I wouldn't advise packing on weight and changing gender to achieve a quick rate down the line!  Besides, I've plateaued and am losing much slower than immediately post-op.  If I had my 'druthers I'd lose at a slower but steadier pace.

Dana, Glad to hear that you are doing better now.  Thanks for reminding us all how easy it is to get dehydrated ~ especially during these agonizingly hot months!  Take care! Hugs, Donna
