I am only 1 month out on Friday, so I haven't tried many of my old favorites.  But so far, I havd had no problems with taste change or food intollerance.  I heard so much about it pre-op, I expected it.  I haven't cheated from the doctor's plan yet.  But I have had a lot of head hunger.  And in my head I also still want all the old favorites.  I am hoping my tastes have changed.  I never thought I would want to dump, but I also hope I have that problrm if I break the rules. Loosing taste for old foods is a small price to pay for the scales going down and feeling healthier.  I just weighed at gym and made a new ticker!!  It is soooooo worth it. Nancy

I agree it is a small price to pay if it keeps you from foods that aren't good for you but on the other hand it is a problem if getting protein in is effected because not much of anything is tolerable.  I have to hold my nose to do nasty Isopure or protein bullets.  Would I rather eat hotwings or pork, which smells and taste like puke to me, of course not, I'll do the hold the nose protein bullets. But mentally it gets to you that alot that things you need don't taste good and you'd rather be able to eat foods with your family than chug a protein bullet.  Of course it saves on the food bills but they aren't cheap either.  I am getting to the point that I despise shopping for groceries and cooking dinner for my family since 9 times out of 10 I know the outcome.  Now my husband has been supportive so far but it aggrivates him.

I agree, Lynn.  I know what you mean by what it does to your mind when you find yourself unable to tolerate the stuff that is good for you.  My hat is off to you for being able to swallow those protein bullets.  I can't manage it.  And you have reminded me how grateful I am that I don't have a family to cook for at this time, because I have very little tolerance for the smell of food cooking.  Keep on keepin' on and try to do it only one day at a time. All the best, Suzanne
