Went In For A Scope And...

Ended up back in surgery! I posted about having trouble keeping any thing down and still being on liquids because of it. Well... the scar tissue had encased and kinked my new limb to my pouch. Nothing was going past it. Dr. Lowe tried two peds and one adult scope and still couldn't see why it wouldn't pass so he decided to go back in. Isn't it ironic that all those nasty lil steri-strips had just fallen off when I got home Sat morning!?!  He went back in through four of my five incisions and just cut lose the scar tissue. Once he cut it my bowl bounced right back open... it was completely closed off. I can drink again!!! I was so dehydrated I had 5 bags of fluid and blew 4 iv's. Fun, fun. I feel a ton better already but he warned me that this was the second surgery in two weeks and I would be more sore and lathargic so no work for two weeks until he sees me agian. I'm kinda bummed about that... I was just getting over being lazy!  I'm home and drinking, feeling fine. Just beware to watch and call your doc if you start getting sick.  Hugs

Shawana -

OMGoodness! You poor dear! I'm glad that you called your Dr. and that he checked you and was able to take care of things for you. I certainly hope that you take the time you need to take care of yourself ...2 surgeries in 2 weeks!

Please keep us posted on your progress. I hope that everything evens out from here.

Take care,

Barb

I liked it so much I had to do it again. LOL  I know he's been in there this time! Luck would have it that he went back in through 4 of my 5 old incisions.  I can go on soft food Tuesday. Everything else looked good in there... that made me happy! The only pain i really had was from my iv in my wrist... that's a bit tender!  Now my throat just feels a little raw and my new 'holes' are a little swollen. I've not had any pain meds since surgery. I still wouldn't change having surgery. I'd do it all again in a second.

Thanks! I'm already kicking it in the butt... now if i can just get him to let me go back to work in a week instead of two... I'm lucky. I have a wonderful doctor. All that research truely paid off, I wouldn't trade him for the world!

Thanks, Myrtis!  How are things going for you? Did you ever find out about what the doc wanted? It's this week isn't it?

Shawanna,      You do have a great surgeon and am sorry that you had to go through this, but am so glad he caught the problem. I know you will feel better now and according to your post you already do. Hopefully the doc will release you back to work. Man, you must be a model employee so eager to go back...lol. I start back teaching tomorrow and am already like the kids....not sure I want to go to school tomorrow. Anyhow, so glad you will be on the mend here. Keep us posted. Lisa
