Hey All! I didn't realize how close Annie lived to me... really right on my way to Sanford, just a couple miles difference than if I went down 87.  My church is in Sanford.  I'm having a fantastic day!!!  First, my brief but wonderful visit with Annie.  Thank you SO much for the flowers.  They are purple, frangrant and mixed with baby's breath!  They are beautiful!! They went to church with me and on to visit my family in Fayetteville! Every one loved them and thought I brought them, but I told everyone they were a gift from my special friend Annie.  Annie:  I pray you enjoyed the bean and bacon soup, if and when you eat it.  It's storming pretty bad out here tonight in Fayetteville.  I pray the drive back to Haw River will be safe and uneventful.  Yall take care.  I'm having a blast with my family. Love yall!!! Thx Annie! DianeF

Diane:      Sounds like you had a good day. I know Annie appreciated the visit and the soup. Where is haw River? Are you from  Fayetteville originally? Just curious since that is where I live(in the outskirts of Cumberland County). I live in the country but grew up in Fayetteville. All my life except for the years I was in college have been here. Anyhow, just curious. Hope you have a good drive home. Lisa

I had a fantastic day yesterday.  I was up early, had a short visit with Annie because I was running late for church!  I received some beautiful purple flowers from Annie!  They were fragrant and mixed with baby's breath!  I went to my "home" church in Sanford and saw folks I hadn't seen in 2 years!  I then went to my sister's home in Fayetteville where my Mom was visiting from Connecticut.  My Mom is leaving to go home on Thursday.  I brought along some soup there also, as I don't like to eat regular foods just yet.  I saw my nephew, his wife and 2 kids (hadn't seen them in 5 years!)  My sister and her husband live in King's Grant off of Ramsey Street.  They have a lovely town home there in a brand new subdivision.  I received more love and hugs yesterday than in the last year total!  It was great.  It was a very happy time for me.  My Mom hugged me like it was for the last time.  That was scary and emotional.  I grew up in CT.  I have lived in the south most of my adult life, started out in the Army in Alabama, SC, Georgia and VA, plus 5 years overseas.  When my husband Sam passed away i*****  and the kids were grown and gone I decided to sell our home and move here closer to family in 1996.  I ended up in Haw River, by Mebane and Burlington off of I40-85 with my job, which I can retire from in a few years.  I just love NC.  I call it God's country (like fleeing from Egypt!)  I have so much family here that has migrated from New England.  My sister and her husband retired at Ft. Bragg.  My niece and her husband live in Charleston, SC, nephew and family in Fayetteville, 2 nephews in Asheville, cousins in Asheville.... and so on and so on.  My drive home was safe and uneventful.... yet looong.  Time for me to cut up some more of my fat clothes for my PHAT quilt I am making.  It'll be a big one! Blessings, DianeF

Goodmorning Diane,

Your soup in on my list for this afternoon.

I am glad you liked the flowers I thought the color was beutiful.

Glad you enjoyed your visit with your family yesterday.

I did get your voicemail after we got the cable up and running and the phone LOL.

I cant remembr if I told you I had to go to a funeral yesterday.

I went and it is a very nice way to remember my friend Anita.

There was a huge spread of all kinds of vegitarian foods at the house yesterday and the yard and house was filled with older hippy types my kind of crowd LOL.

I found a chair outside and we were there about 2 hours when I got home I was starving.

The soup was still frozen so I grabed some deviled chicken spread and crackers and filled my cup up with Crystal light.

I am sure I ate to fast and wa**** with terrible nausea.

I am thinking I ate to fast and stayed in the heat to long yesterday.

I did not eat anything at the service yesterday but had 2oz of cheese before going thinking that would hold me till I got home.

Just more trail and error learning for me.

                                     Annie

Hi Annie! I am so sorry about the loss of your friend.  It sounds like they honored her life appropriately.  I have learned to eat very slowly.  I have also tried drinking before eating because after this surgery, thirst comes to us in the form of "hunger."  So always liquids first and wait 30 minutes before eating.  I know that is difficult when hungry. With the bean and bacon soup, you may want to add a little chicken broth or water to thin it out a little as the beans absorb the liquid.  My Mom loved it, and I pray you will enjoy it too.  It is full of protein and fiber, fresh vegetable and nourishment.  You don't need much to fill you up! If you try to drink and eat at the same time you will lose your lunch.  It just doesn't work.  Really is trial and error learning for all of us at first.  You are doing fantastic Annie.  You have a beautiful home and I loved your English Bull Dogs!  They are mean looking, but the sweetest dogs ever! Love, Diane

Hi Diane,      Sounds like you had a great weekend...and the soup sounds fantastic! I wish my family was closer so I could visit more. Sure do miss them.      We got a bit of the thunder and lightening here around 2am, but no rain. Hopefully today we will. We need it so bad.      Glad you got to have a visit with Annie. She is a sweetheart. Happy Monday to you! Mare
