Hey everyone....just having a moment here.  I am in the process of submitting my registration packet to Duke, called them today and my flexible spending card will not be accepted due to the fact that their merchant code is Duke University, so when they swipe my card to pay the registration fee, it comes up as a University and nothing medical.  So now that means I have to come up with the $250 and THEN get reimbursed by my PayFlex.  Ugh!  I know to some people $250 is pocket change...but well, I'm not one of those people!  Dangit!!  I wish I was.  So as soon as I got over that crying spell, I opened the electric bill...ACK!  Goodness, please tell me that one day I will look back on these days and realize its just another hump in my journey.  Ah the joys of being working parents who are overworked and underpaid!!!!!! Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for letting me whine!  Hugs, Kim

Hey Kim-

It will get better. I know that when my stuff goes through it comes up as something else. #### Diagnostics I think. Check w/the gal who does their insurance again ... I don't mean Beth, I mean the other gal, I think her name might be Michelle or Melissa.

Take care ... It will get better.

Kim- when I worked for Duke everything shows as "Duke Private Diagnostic Clinic" I think this is what Barb is referring to....Good luck and hang in there- I'm 6 months post op and I PROMISE you it's worth all these hassles! Have a good weekend! Sheila

I am a work in progress and I am committed to progress with the work ahead of me.....

Kim,

I understand what you mean by 250 not being pocket change.

It is alot of money if you ask me or my hubby.

hang in there through the humps and bumps and one day soon it will all be just a bad dream.

Kim,

dont forget the 250 is not refundable even if you drop out of the program at Duke.

I did drop out of the program and switched to UNC and knew I would not get the money back but it was a choice I am so glad I did.

If my memory serves me right I think the initial cost at UNC was 100 or 150.

Kim,  I know what you mean about $250 but I think it iwll count toward your deductable. I have a fed flex plan and never received the card so I had to turn all my stuff in. But it comes back in about 2 weeks for us. Unfortunately I have used up my limit already.  I think that electic bill is a big hump with all this heat and the AC roaring. I finally got the AC fixed in my mail car so I don't have a wet bunny towel on my head. Can't wait to open my electric bill.  Don't despare it will all get better. If you are like me the wls paper process is unerving enough. Hopefully it will be our turn soon. We'll get to be  Big loosers, so just think about the end results. God Bless, Myrtis

Just take a moment and BREATHE.  Remember the big picture, skinny and healthy.  We all know what you are going through and can feel your pain.  YOU ARE NOT ALONE.  Venting feels great, days will get better.  God bless you!
