After weeks of mess-ups (not mine either) and copious tears I finally have insurance APPROVAL!!!!!!!! I can not believe it. I am almost numb. Yesterday all I felt was frustration at the "system" and now I am in disbelief. I was really excited when I called insurance and the man said that I was approved but now I am feeling anxious/jittery. There is so much to do. My sister-in-law is going to fly in from Texas to take care of the kids (12 and 11). They'll be in school all day so I told her to bring a good book. She bought her airline ticket last night. Got to get my house in order, move stuff down so I will be able to reach them after surgery, stock up on vitamins, etc., have my chapstick for the hospital already.*whew*  Oh,I am having my RNY on September 17. Since I was the first to ask for this date (worked better for hubby and SIL) I get to be the first of the day so my procedure is at 7:30AM. I almost forgot. I am going to Greenville today to sign my consent form and go to the hospital for my pre-op bloodwork. OMG. Linda

Linda -

WOO! HOO! Congratulations! The 17th will be here before you know it. I'm so very delighted for you. It's great that your SIL is going to be able to come in to give you and your family a hand. What a lovely gift of love and support!

Being nervous is normal. Even though it's something we want and need, making significant lifestyle changes and undergoing a surgical procedure are both daunting ...That said, I have to say that I truly feel it was the best thing I could have done to take care of myself and my family in the long run.

I look forward to hearing from you before and after your procedure. If you don't have an "angel" yet, you might want to contact someone you'd like to have stay in touch with your family and post your progress until you get back on the board.

Again, I am so very delighted for you!

Barb

P.S. I've just brushed off a seat on the loser's bench for you! It's all fresh and ready for you. :-)

Linda!!! Wow!!!  Isn't it amazing the flip flop of emotions when surgery is approved... it's like I went from "this is never going to happen for me"  to "OMG I'm not READY!!!"  And this happened in an instant! Things will move quickly now.  Remember that we are here praying for you and to help in any way we can.  Thank God you have a strong family support network! That's a blessing! Congrats, Diane

Through God ALL things are possible!
