My tests are scheduled for tomorrow.  I am soooo nervous, probably won't sleep a wink.  I have to be at Rex Hospital by 6:45am.  I will be having stomach/upper body ultrasound, ABG, Pulmonary Function Tests, Upper GI and blood tests.  YUCK!!  I am very nervous, hoping everything goes quickly and smoothly.  Only thought getting me through is knowing I'll be one step closer to being skinny and healthy!!!

Thanks for listening!

Laurie

Laurie, Best of luck on your testing tomorrow, I hope every things goes off like a breeze.  For me, the anxiety of tests were worse than the test themselves, but once they're done, you'll be on your way!!!  Let us know how things go!! Nancy

Laurie, Congrats on getting all your tests done in one fell swoop! I wish I could have done that.  Like the rest have said, the UGI is a breeze. Blood tests are blood tests, but you'll only get stuck once and have all your labs done. The ABG will be going into a main artery. Ultrasounds are easy, they just roll the wand over the area they want to look at.  The Pulmonary Function Tests are interesting. I wiki'd it and found this: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003853.htm I didn't have to do this test, so can't give you anything other than - just breathe.  You'll do great! Cy

Thank you so much for all the wonderful advice and support.  I am done!!  First step was the ultrasound, piece of cake, interesting seeing my liver, kidneys, gallbladder and pancreas.  Next was the chest x-ray and upper GI.  Can't say I enjoyed the upper GI, but it went rather quickly.  The doctor said she thought everything looked good.  After that was the PFT, blowing alot of air.  Not too bad.  The RT thought I might have asthma, may have a referral to a pulmanologist(?), she had some concerns about one of the tests that showed sob after exercetion(?) (sorry about all the spelling, not a nurse).  I told her I was just fat!!  Anyway, the EKG was normal and lastly had all the blood work.  The ABG was painful, still hurts actually.  Looking forward to hearing from Dr. Enoch's office early next week.  I have seen the nutritionist and the psychologist, not sure what's next.  Thanks again!!  YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!

Yeah Laurie! Everything sounds great. Have you seen a cardiologist yet for a stress test? Dr. Enochs' office had me have one of those too. Congratulations! You're almost there!
