Too old for tuff wars and this foolishness!!!

I have patiently read many posts in the past several weeks that I find very disturbing. I am going to be very blunt and candid with this post and it is NOT my intent to step on toes. My intent is to be forthright and frank about the current state-of-affairs on this Board. In the past several months , we have all be fortunate to take part in a lively, vibrant supportive board. We all had a common bond and goal- WLS and ALL had something worth sharing. I am not pointing fingers- I am sharing my own personal opinions- since the posting on Meet-up there has been NOTHING but mass confusion/splintering of support, pity exclusion of others. This is not the purpose here! We are all adults. I want to open a forum for all regarding this current negativism. We have obviously lost some of our regulars- I miss Diane F, and Jenn and Sarah and others. I have been on this Board when there would be no posts for DAYS. It is a blessing to have this forum, active and engaged with shared wisdom and support. Here's my challenge- WHAT ARE WE-AS A COLLECTIVE GROUP, going to do to return this forum to it;s intended purpose??? Who else has had enough of this BS and negativism? This is our Board and I personally do not care for the current tone. Let's make this something positive and a comfortable forum for everyone, please??? Respectfully- Sheila

Sheila, I have only been an active member for a short while but I have noticed the difference also.  I agree with you 100% and hope we can get things back to the supportive, lively, vibrant band it was before all these problems began.  I love the friends I've made!  The positive feedback and support are important to the success of our WLS.  I appreciate all those who have continued to focus on what we are here for.  Lets get past this and move on!  

I too look forward to returning to the active, supportive forum we had only weeks ago.

I know that this has been hard on everyone. I will go out of my way to step out of the fray.

I need this forum for my own support- my surgeon is 4 hrs away- I do not have a local support group. None of us come here for negativism- so I do think its time to voice your opinion ( in a respectful manner) and then let's move forward. I am so grateful that the NC has come alive and grown with some many active, insightful folks. Now- LEt's all play well with others!!! Sheila

Hi Shelia, Thank you so much for your post.  It is so needed!! The nature of this group is to find unconditional support and encouragment.  I pray that this board returns to that. 

Well, as a new poster I can say the tension is very evident and can be oftputting. I wanted to meet locals and talk to them about their experiences, but I'm one not to be discouraged so easily and I've already connected with several awesome folks so I guess in the end I'll get what I need, just in a different way than I thought. I've been a member on many many other boards (parenting, hobby related) and there will always be those that don't see eye to eye, the point is to try and keep it off the board and between the parties involved. We're all mature individuals and should be able to act accordingly.

Sheila, Thanks for articulating what has been on the minds of a lot of people, I am certain.  Inclusion, not exclusion, is the key to success here.  We all have so mu*****ommon.  That is what we should be focusing on, not on our differences.  Identify, don't compare. Thanks again,

I must be clueless or missed the  bad stuff. All have been kind to me and give great suggestions. I  hope I have not hurt anyone.... I like to laugh and crack jokes and add humor to what I say. So I appoligise if I am  one of the guilty ones.  Are things being said over private messages? Or am I just out of the loop?  What I have read and seen has been OK......I am confused. Please advise me if I am taking thing in a wrong direction. I need this board for its valuable advice  and people which are going through or have been through the wls I am heading for. I also miss the ones which have left and tried to encourage them to stay. hopefully,  Myrtis
