Hey everyone! I am signed up for the informational meeting tonight, just wondering if by chance that they have a playroom or anything?  Unfortunately my husband is working, and my babysitter is sick, so I have no one to watch Colby, who is 6.  I know that he will sit still for about 3 minutes, then he'll be done.  Ah, the joys of living far away from family.  :(  Hope everyone has a great Friday and enjoy the weekend!  Conrgats to all the losers and everyone getting ready to be on that side.  It's so encouraging to read all the stories and know that someday I (hopefully) will be there too!!! Hugs, Kim

Hi Kim -

They hold the informational meetings downstairs in a conference adjacent to the cafeteria. You might want to sit in the back or one of the sides and bring some things that Colby can occupy himself with ... The reason I suggest one of the sides or back is so that Colby might have a bit of extra room if he want's to lay or sit on the floor to color or play with "kid stuff".

I hope that helps.

If you have any questions re: Duke and their process please feel free to read my profile and/or to contact me directly.

Hey, maybe I'll see you there. I'll probably have my dd with me and try to sit quietly in the back. Oh how I wish they did this stuff in the evenings., 3-5 is smack dab in the middle of the day, who comes up with these times?

I can't speak for Duke, but when I went to my seminar at Wake Forest, there were a few kids there. I think the doctors/staff running the seminars understand things like this. I guess just try to bring some of his favorite toys/quiet activities (if that's even an option for a young boy...i don't have kids but I realize how they can be...). Good luck, I hope no one makes a big fuss over him being there, and that he behaves. ;)
