Hope everyone is good.  I sure am.  Well I have my ups and downs. Thank you to everyone who prayed for me and kept me in your thoughts.  Thaank you Shawana and Jennifer for calling an d checking on me and plus putting my update on here.  I remember beng rolled in to the OR and arms out like Jesus on the cross.   Then I was in my room about 4:30.  Dr. M said everything went well. I had alot of visitors my first night. I got up and walked after they all left though.  I got up about 3 times the first night and Weds,  I was up numerous times walking.  I think I walked so much I made myself nauseated (sp?) So they gave me something for that, plus it knocked me out.   Dr. M came and saw me at 7:00 this morning, and released me.  I finally left around 10:30am. My calves are about to kill me though.  And I walked ALOT so I'm not sure whats wrong.  I'm gonna call Rita the nurse tomorrow if its not any better.   I need to start writing down he times and oz. I drink so I can keep up with it. Well I think I am going to take a pain pill and get some rest.  Talk at you guys later.   Until then I'm gonna be

Sounds like you're doing great. Do take care of those calves, though. You don't want anything like DVT. (Not to alarm you, but gotta be cautious.) Let us know how you're doing.  Welcome home, babe! Mare

Welcome home! I am sure you are happy all of this is behind you now!  CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the Loser's bench!  It's all downhill now, as they say.  The hardest part for me was getting my strength back after surgery.  I went back to work after 3 weeks, but I was weak as a kitten!  Thank you so much for letting us know you are ok.  You have been in many of our prayers.  Don't hesitate to call your surgeon's nurse for any post surgical questions!  Karen Colton, our bariatric nurse, was so wonderful and patient with me.  She always called back within 24 hrs.  Some things she referred to my PCP, like recurring back pain.  I laid on the table in recovery for over 12 hours.  My back killed me for about 3 months before it was fully healed.  Please bear in mind that walking speeds your recovery, water and protein nourish your body.  Those things will keep you healthy and on a fast track to recovery!

Blessings,

Diane

I'm only on here for a minute.  I read all the replies and I thank everyone who did reply.  Thank you also for you rprayers.  I called my nurse today about my legs and she said that it is probably me getting back in the routine of things.  They are still hurting though.  I have done pretty good at getting my fluids in and all.  So Thank You all again.
