Meetup.com Clarification

Hello -  I have recently started a meetup group on www.meetup.com  The group is named "The Raleigh OH Meetup Group" http://wls.meetup.com/101/ I started this meetup group for the sole purpose of posting area events and get together's. I offered also to post events for basically all of NC. The meetup site is intended to post event information only, it is not a "support group". This group is private for the purpose of keeping it updated with OH NC FORUM members activities. I have and never had the intention of running it for anyone besides our OH NC MEMBERS, hence the name. I do not discriminate against anyone, everyone who is a member of the OH NC FORUM will be and has been accepted. This is a current copy of the web page: We are a group of OH members from the Greater Raleigh Area. We welcome all registered OH NC Forum members. We hope to provide a place where members can come to see what activities are scheduled for the area. This site is for fun and socializing events and is no way officially connected with OH. Welcome!   When registering you MUST use your same name and avatar as used on the OH NC Forum. You will not be accepted unless these conditions are met. This criteria is required in efforts to allow all members continuity. You will see that it requires you to "join" under the same "username and avatar" as used on OH. This is in place because it was developed for OH users. When you are a member you will recognize your fellow OH friends by their "username and avatar" there will be no confusion as to who someone is. If you know someone on OH, you will recognize the OH member on Meetup. I hope this clarifies any questions or concerns. I will happily post any and all requests for planned activities on the meetup website for active meetup.com members. This Meetup group is in it's infancy and I hope that you will find it a quality place to look for activities in your area. It can only be as successful as it's members who contribute activity information. My intention is not to be the sole provider for activities, I am hear to post the activities that YOU want. I will not be present at all activities and will not be "running the show". The coordinator of the activity will be the person requesting the event, I am simply in the position of "getting the news out". Thanks for the information.  However, I already attend UNC Chapel Hill Support Group and there is one in Durham I plan on attending; plus I plan on supporting BarbaraC with her group. I am planning informal coffees at my house and at area restaurants here in the Burlington - Greensboro area just for fun for folks who want something local.  These, coupled with my 7 day work schedule, don't allow for any more trips over an hours drive.  Keep up the good work!  I am sure it is appreciated.

Diane- Maybe you should post your events on the website so that everyone can see them.  It sounds like this web-calendarish thing would be a great outlet for getting people information about all of the meet-up groups in NC.  She said this would be for all events so unless yours were private or something along those lines you should use it too! ~Laura
