My surgery was Tuesday the 7th at noon.  I did well, no problems!!!    Got up and walked several laps around the hospital floor I was on.  The nurses were very kind and concerned.  Went home Thursday around noon.  The protein is a killer.  I can manage most of the 60 oz. liquids - but 60 oz. protein is hard.   Been walking 1+ hr a day and went today for my 1 week post op.  Got my staples out and had lost 16 lbs!!!!! Go back next week to meet the nutrionist.  Looking forward to a scrambled egg or something!! No I need support to stay on track. Dianne

((((Dianne))))

Congratulations on your surgery and a weight loss of 16 lbs!  That is fantastic!  Little by little you will be able to tolerate food... small amounts and lots of chewing!  Good luck with the protein.  I was never able to get more than 40 oz. down in shakes, but made up the rest in yogurts and cottage cheese, etc.  Lite and fit yogurt is wonderful.  I ate it til I just couldn't eat anymore!  It does get old.  I am 5 months out and officially 1/2 way to goal!  I just went into Onederland and feel fantastic.  I don't care if I only lose 2 lbs/week the rest of the way, as long as I stay healthy and look healthy!  I have been blessed with good skin that hasn't lost elasticity, (thank you Mom and Dad)!  I had my first labs done (8 viles of blood) and all test came back "within normal range."  I have shed some hair, but only noticable to me.  I'm not concerned, as this is just part of the process.  I have learned to rely more on the tape measure and less on the scale.  I only measure my belly because that is where I carried the majority of my weight. I have lost a whopping 16 inches in 5 months.  This surgery is a blessing beyond belief, so difficult to describe to folks how much healthier and happier I am now.  You have so much to look forward to.  Wow moments will come without warning, and brighten every day.  I am so incredicbly thankful to our God who brought me to this and saved my life.

May your days be filled with joy and many many blessings,

Diane
