Insurance...Waiting...Update
I called my case manager at Empire BCBS to see if she received the docs. She said she had not gotten them. Immediately called the office and was told they were sent the day before. I told him that she had not received them. I asked him to please check because he had told me earlier in the week that they had been sent the week before when they had not been sent and were sitting on someones desk.
He resent them after we talked and she has them this morning (57 pages - hopefully they sent them all). She said she was waiting on the Dr. office to call her back and wanted my phone number so she could call me. I asked her did she need more information. She said no, she just needed to ask them a couple of questions. Hope to hear back from her soon.....
It is a good thing that you are keeping on top of things. I worked in insurance for a hospital years ago.. and I have to tell you that the "we did not get them" story is a ploy used by insurance companies to delay the process. Stay on them!! That way the doc's office nor the insurance company can be slack.
I had the same issue when I was waiting for approval. I don't know if it was the insurance handler at Chapman's office or the insurance company. Either way, I got tired by the end of it of having to remind people to do their job. They're the ones getting paid to take care of this, why did I have to do their jobs for them? I guess it all boils down to "the squeaky wheel getting oiled first." Good luck with the approval. Keep calling every few days to make sure they're doing their part.
Take care.

Thanks. I think my problem is with Chapman's office. Jan really got her nose put out of joint when I called with my case reference number and case manager. It really irritates me for those that aren't as informed about the process and how things like this cause people to fall between the cracks. I am going to call Chapman's office to see if they have called her back.
