OH Support Group in the Triangle ... I'd like your input
Hi All -
A few months ago Candice, Wendy and I got together to see about putting together a support group for the Triangle. I contacted OH about what might be involved in becoming a support group leader. They provide training. I signed up to take the training. I am interested in and willing to complete the training and to do the meetings, but only if there is enough interest. I'm just not sure if anyone is still be interested in an OH Support Group in the Triangle. If not, it's okay. I'd just appreciate input as I decide whether to proceed.
Thanks in advance,
Barb

Wendy -
Thanks for letting people know that you have set up the Meetup Group forum for knowing what's happening with whichever group is having an event. I am sure that it will be helpful to everyone.
The reason for my post, is that when I originally talked with Candice about about starting a local group this spring, we talked about seeing if we could get some information/support from OH. I contacted them and they have classes available for support group leaders that provides information and seminars on all kinds of WLS issues. I am glad to attend the meetings and to set up an OH Support Group for this area, I just want to know if there is interest in an OH support group.
If you have any input regarding an OH Support Group for the Triangle/Raliegh area, I'd appreciate hearing what you have to say.
I look forward to hearing from you.

I too am interested in fun, socializing events ... That's why I set up the first beach trip. I hope to be involved with future events as we move forward. I guess I wanted to know was if it was worth the time and effort to start an "official OH support group for the area. I too, am not sure that it is necessary or would be attended ... that's why I posted. I appreciate your response.
I know that everyone will really appreciate your establishing the Raleigh Area OH Meet Group at MeetUp.com. I'm sure that it will give everyone a great place to go see what's going on.

Wendy,
I'm sure your efforts to start a group is appreciated. However, when you accuse Barb of "spinning your wheels in the mud by trying to start ANOTHER group" and "I'd rather not continue the polite banter you so seem to enjoy." This comes across as "not very nice." I believe it does warrant an apology to Barb. She is sincerely trying to help us all here.
Mr. Webster defines banter as: 1. badinage, joking, jesting, pleasantry, persiflage. 2. tease, twit; ridicule, deride, mock
I'm sorry I don't see that in any of Barb's posts. However, I clearly see it in yours.
We are all trying to get through this together. When you denied me access to meetup.com because my avatar wasn't the same as here... that is just a bit extreme. I have since quit your group because I see it as not supportive at all.
