need some words of encouragment.....................

I felt weak and fatiqued at 2 wks and my RNY was laparascopic. Remember to be gentle with yourself. An open procedure is a MUCH more difficult recovery. There is a great deal more healing that needs to occur. It takes about twice as long to recover from an open procedure, than it does to recover from a lap procedure.
It's really normal to question your decision when you are at this stage of the game ... you'll probably question it again, but go back to the "health reasons" you did this. Remember that this is just about the hardest part of the journey ...the hardest part might have been right after surgery... It's kind of hard to see the big picture when you are more tired than dirt, hurting and have to work hard just to get your nutrition and fluids in. Do something positive and special for yourself each day. Remember that you are going to tire easily, even when your head thinks you should be doing more, your body is smarter and will yank you back if you to are doing too much ... that's what naps are for ... helping to recharge your batteries.
Be really careful about your fluids and electrolites... Talk to your Dr or his nursing staff.
It may be hard to believe it now, but this too shall pass. When it does, I'm sure that you will feel that you did indeed do the best thing you could to ensure your longterm health and quality of life.
