Monday the 13th

Well it is around the corner and eveybody keeps asking me if I was worried.I keep telling them it is not on my mind and I keep busy at work.Even the guys at work ask the same question.My last day is Friday and they are keeping me in the office so I want get hurt on the job.But I started thinking about it and now it runs thru my mind all the time.Everybody keeps asking me about my last meal and I tell them I'm not dying.But I'm ready for it and keeps my spirits up about the surgery.Even my owner of the company coming down tomorrow and he wants to take me out for lunch.But have a feeling he is getting me out of store,so they can throw me a surprise party.Only been with the company for 9 months and they are worried about me.Since I been there, my department profits are up 24 percent and the store is growing.I live 30 minutes from store and after a couple of weeks when I get home from hospital,they want me to work from home.I was told today that a guy from work is going to install a line at my house,so I can dial into the system at work.I guess there are place that actually care about there employees.

You will do great.  I did not get pulled into the "last meal syndrome" because I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery.  Don't overdo it...  It can only hurt you in the long run.

Sounds like you're surrounded by some pretty terrific people at your job. That is so great. Good luck with everything on Monday. We'll be praying for you and waiting to hear how it went. Mare PS - Let us know how the party went. LOL    

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery John!  Sounds like between your sister and your coworkers you have a lot of support.  I had my surgery at Pitt and it was a very good experience, relative to the fact that it was surgery.   If you need anything, feel free to email me.  I'd be happy to help out. John, You work for a wonderful company, I wish they could all be supportive of their employees like this!  It's cool that they will let you work from home while you recooperate, but don't pu**** too much!!!  Let your body heal!  Trust me, I went back to work 2 weeks after mine and pushed it...   Best of luck on your upcoming surgery, I know you'll do fine and be on the loosers bench with us soon!  My thoughts and prayers will be with you!!!
