will NC medicaid cover WLS ??

I would like to know if any of you that has had the WLS had NC medicaid ? If not will they set up a payment plan for you to pay if they do not except medicaid ?

Let me tell you that they require a 6 month supervised diet w/ your pcp....so if you haven't already start it w/ your pcp.  Good Luck!

how much do they want you to loose? 6 month's is a long time !!! and if you loose a significant amount then you may not qualify for the surgery. what does you BMI have to be before you can qualify ?

Once the Dr's office finally got it together, my approval at insurance was the same day they got it in the mail! Medicaid says allow 3 weeks for them to review. There's no set amount they expect you to lose. You just have to try your best and stick to what you and the doc agree to.
