ON MY WAY TO DR MILES' OFFICE...

JUST GOT A CALL FROM SANICA AT DR HARRIS' OFFICE (AMAZING WHAT CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED WHEN YOU CALL A SURGEON IN THE GAME PLAN!  I LEFT 2 MESSAGES FOR HER ALONE YESTERDAY AND NEVER GOT A RETURN CALL!)  THE ON-CALL SURGEON SPOKE WITH DR MILES AND HE WANTS ME TO HEAD OUT TO THEIR OFFICE RIGHT NOW. FRANKLY, I AM NOT CONVINCED THIS IS A PICC LINE INFECTION.  I THINK IT IS THRUSH OR STREPT THROAT.  FIRST OF ALL IT IS NOT RESPONDING TO THE ANTIBIOTICS I AM GETTING 4 TIMES A DAY, AND NEITHER OF THOSE CONDITIONS ARE SENSITIVE TO THE ANTIBIOTIC I AM ON. OH WELL, WE WILL SOON FIND OUT.  FEVER WAS STILL 102.4 THIS AM. WISH ME LUCK!  I WILL KEEP YOU APPRISED!  KEEP PRAYING!

I really hope you get this resolved you poor thing!!! Im glad you called the surgeon and bypassed the office this time. I wish you well and hope that fever breaks and they can get you fixed up properly!!!

ROFLMAO!!! But wait... there's more!  I started my drive in to Wilmington and then thought I had better make sure Dr Miles is actually going to be there before I drive for an hour.  Would you believe he is in surgery?  They don't know when he will be back.  But the nurse I spoke with encouraged me to just drive on over and see the physician's asst so that I can give them a complete history.  I was SO pissed!  I said NO.  You let me know when he will be there, I don't have the energy to chase after medical egos.  She say well he might want you to go to the hospital for a CBC.  I told her the CBC was done yesterday.  She wanted to know who did it.  I told her the name of the home care agency I am dealing with.  She says "Oh no, it can't be them.  They only do intravenous work."  I said "Oh you mean like the PICC line that has been feeding my ass for the past 10 days?"  I reminded her that Dr Miles was thoroughly briefed by both Dr Harris and Dr Weinberg last night.  I gave her my phne numbers and told her to call me when she knew the Dr would be there.  I am SO over these nurses! Thanks for the prayers.  Love you.

Thanks Nancy!  Read my reply to Mare for more nonsense.  It is time for me to hook up to my antibiotics.  Seems likle a much better use of my time than playing hide and seek with these numb nuts! Love you!

You know, Dr's and just other professional people I have noticed in society are sooooooo bad for this- like they think you don't have anything better to do with your day than to be a yo-yo.  My example was the sears mower repair man who was scheduled between 8-5, and showed 4:53.  These people irk me!!  Good you saved yourself a favor suz! nancy
