What can I take for a cold (if anything?)

I'm 11 days post-op and OF COURSE I caught my son's cold.

I can't call my Dr. until tomorrow, so I thought I'd see if anyone might know?? Can I take anything this soon after surgery? I thought about taking some sugar free cough drops but wasn't sure about that one either. Dang it.

what symptoms are you trying to alleviate? if it's a runny nose, get liquid benadryl. if it's a cough, get sugar-free cough syrup.

LOL. I wonder if our Zachary didn't share the wealth with me as well when you guys came for a visit. I was sure I was coming down with a cold on Thursday and Friday, but the sneezing and runny nose seemed to clear up as soon as I left the hospital. But now I have a fever and a sore throat. Wonder if there is a connection? Hope you feel better soon Sweetie!

Hi Suzanne! No, Zach didn't get sic****il yesterday evening with his cold so I don't think there's any connection...I hope not anyway. Right before bed last night he started sniffling and I knew I was a gonner. LOL! I hope you're feeling better!!

Amy , sorry to hear you've got a cold! A few days after surgery I thought I had one, that's when I was going to suprise Suzanne when she was in hospital. Suprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol. Anyway, if you need anything let me know, I'll run it over. Nancy

Thanks so much Nancy. My husband went to Food Lion last night and grabbed me some SF cough medicine and cough drops.

Thank goodness I was finally able to sleep on my side last night!! Give me a call today if you're bored...we're just cleaning out the garage & I'd love an excuse not to do it. LOL!!!
