So after the episode in the morning I felt ok about an hour later... ate lunch was fine. When I left work I went to pick up the script and the nurse never called it in (thanks lady!)... I picked up some malox (which she suggested and headed home).  Felt fine until after I ate dinner (soup)... my stomach is again burning.... I took some malox about an hour before I ate and just took more and its not helping. Its been about a 1/2 hour since I ate and its getting better but its still hurting. If this is really acid refulx is this normal?? Im going to call the nurse back in the morning but am worried about whats going on (they may have me in for xrays). The pain is tolerable but very uncomfortable... I dont want to go rushing to the ER for no reason.  Advice anybody??

So sorry you're uncomfortable!!   What about Prilosec OTC?  Did the Pharmacist have any suggestions until the morning? Gosh, I hate to say it but it almost sounds like an ulcer to me.  Now, don't worry just because I said that - meds can fix. I would rest your gut and wait until in the am to talk to the MD.  And see if the Pharmacist has any other suggestions to get you through the night.  Good Luck!!

Please keep us posted

I think she said she was calling in 40mg, the OTC is 20... and its $9 for only 8 pills.. on my insurance I could get a full script for $10. It takes a few days to work (per the nurse) so figured waiting until tomorrow couldnt hurt (hopefulyl!). Ulcer... ugh!

You might need an endoscopy to diagnose.  Ulcers are very common with gastric bypass. You don't have hiccups do you?  I've had all kinds of propblems with my stomach and my gastric bypass.   I hope you feel better soon.
