How long after your surgery did you start having milk?  It is not on the list of things I can have from my surgeon, so I never even considered it.  I'm meeting with him tomorrow for my 1 week post-op visit and would like to ask him about it though.  I hear you on the chocolate.  I LOVE the chocolate caramel I got, but it does get boring after a while.  I can't say enough good things about the orange crystal light.  It was delicious.  Thanks for all of the helpful info included in this thread!

To be quite honest, it was not on my list either.  BUT.. when I have my chocolate shake I have to have it mixed with milk.  So.. I tried it and it worked.  Since it is skim milk I wasn't worried about the fat and such.   I don't drink much..  but when I do it does not bother me.

I had my 1 week follow up with my surgeon and asked him if I could have milk and he looked surprised I wasn't drinking it already with my protein shakes!!    He said I could have skim milk!  woot!   He also said I could have low carb/low sugar yogurt.  Great news during this first phase of post-op eating.  LOL Thanks again for all of the tips!

I have GBS in 11 days and I'm on my liquid diet.  I am tolerating milk well also.  I use 1% or soy milk with the chocolate protein powder.  but I'm getting a little tired of it.
