Hello friends, I haven't been on the board much this week.  I am too busy tryign fininsh up work and home before my surgery to get computer time.  However, so many of you have been where I am.  I wanted to vent about my extreme nervousness about the actual surgery and recovery.  I know this is the right things for me and my health, but I have two very young children and I am just nervous.  Also I want to ask for you all for all your prayers and positive thoughts.  I will need all the support I can get.  Thanks in advance.  Any last minute words of wisdom are welcome too.   Alane FLoyd

Alane -

We all react differently, but many of us are really nervous about surgery. I know that was. I also know that I'm glad I did it. Think of the reasons you are doing this ... a couple of those reasons are your kids and your wanting to be there for them now and in the future. Wanting to be able to be fully available to them. Keep reminding yourself of the reasons you decided that this was the right decision for you.

Be sure to let your Dr. know that you are scared. They may be able to give you something to help with that.

If you want to talk, please feel free to send me a private message.

Stay busy and take care of you,

Barb

Don't worry about being scared ~ you wouldn't be normal if you weren't scared!!  We have all been there and know what you are feeling.  We made it through just fine and you will too.  Take care and prayers are going up for you!!  Hugs and best wishes, Donna

I can totally relate!  I had my surgery last Thursday and I was a nervous wreck beforehand...I even cried in the pre-op.

It will be hard, but in the end it will all be worth it.

Sending prayers and good thoughts your way!

Hi there I understand your emotional roller coaster,  my surgery is on Monday.  I have been through so many highs and lows every since I got my surgery date.  The one thing that keeps coming to my mind is I want to be healthy and for the first time since I can remember I have a chance at that.  I also have two children and while mine are not young, there are periods I want to share with them.  I want to see them achieve their professional and personal goals, be there for their milestones to celebrate and for their trials to hold their hands.  I know if I continued the road I was on it was not going to happen.  So with that being said, I have confidence in knowing that I have made the best decision for me.   Remember the things that got you to this decision and hold on to them, like those little ones.  Playing with them, enjoying their moments and they being able to enjoy their mother.            My thoughts and prayers are with you

I think it is normal to be a little scared.  But.. like everyone else has said, you are doing this partly for your children.  Just put your faith in above and all will work out fine!!
