I had my gall bladder ultrasound today and my last NUT appointment. My NUT recommended me for surgery and signed off his report as a go! I had a very bad experience with the ultra sound department and I think the right side of my ribs are bruised and they burn. I have never had a ultrasound before and she was very unproffesional and mean to me. When I told her OWWW that hurts she continued to dig into my ribs and told me that it had to be *probed for* and if I kept complaining she would stop the procedure. She also went and got another ulrasound tech who sat in the room... why??? this was after I told her not to push down on me so hard. They sat and chatted to each other complaining about patient workload ect The icing on the cake was *oh I thought I was done with your ultrasound but it says a complete abdominal is needed, these stupid doctors are too lazy to write what really needs to be done jeez* I felt like I was in hell and couldnt wait to leave. I went and filed a report against her at the Command assist unit and they were pretty upset. Sorry for the rant it was a bad day and my ribs hurt from all her pushing.

I worked in healthcare for years...  I would call and report them.  There is no sense in being treated like that.   You tech was unprofessional and your treatment was uncalled for... I would say something.  Sorry it happened Darcie.. but you are DONE GIRLIE!!!

Yet another reason that I am glad that I am not seen on base!!! My ultrasound experience was totally different. I went and had it done in Morehead. My PCP is out in town. Thankfully when we PCSed they were not accepting any new patients at the Naval hospital. Darcie...I am so sorry that they hurt you. Those jerks. But at least now you are done. Hugs, Linda

Thanks Linda but it was not a active duty Navy member that hurt me... they always ROCK! it was a CIVILIAN. Im never seen at the Naval Hospital unless its something the air station cant handle. The ladies at the Air Station are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im glad I didnt have to drive all the way to Morehead city for this.. to far for me. But yes I am done and now just have to wait for the results which should be in on Monday then everything off to good ole Tricare

I don't think I have ever actually heard of an ultrasound hurting. She must have been brutal! Who did you have? Nurse Ratchett? xoxo

I had one of those *I hate my job* civilians who dont smile and dont even EXPLAIN what is going on. The hospital called me back and asked some more questions, seems like someone is going to be in ho****er over this one. It hurts for me to breathe right now and Peane you made me LOL at Nurse Ratchett!!!!

hugs,

I have had several ultrasounds at the local hospital and every one of them hurt. I have to have one in a couple of weeks and I dread it already. I have to do that and then the insurance has to make the next move. Sorry you had a bad experience but at least you are done. Beth

Hey there sweety,   You dont know me but I was just looking through the daily blogs, and your bad experience caught my eye.  I am so sorry you had to go through something so terrible. Ultrasounds are not supposed to HURT, they sometimes can be uncomfortable, but not hurt.  The way you have described your side and ribs hurting, and especially having trouble breathing, honey, you need an x-ray of your ribs. Hopefully they are just bruised, but as hard as she pushed, she could of cracked or even broke one. Please have a x-ray done, if nothing else to be on thesafe side. By the way you are a very beautiful young lady, you and your husband make a beautiful couple. Good job on reporting the ole battle axe!!! hugs-

Thank you Esther for the kind words... they really made my day! I went to the emergency room last night in pain and found out she bruised the front and back of my rib cage. I have Demerol and hubby taking care of me right now.. thanks again for writing.
