I Think I'm Gonna...

!!! There has got to be another way to get in 70g of protein. I have been up all night sick from it. I'm tired and cranky... can't sleep from the pain in the tummy, the shakes and the sweats. You would think I was coming off a bad acid trip or something.  There better not be any lil green men around. I swear protein powder is from the bowels of hell! Any ideas how to get it in on a liquid diet without this nasty stuff? I can try, but I don't see eating 9 yogurts a day as a good plan.

What kind of protein are you using?  I found one that I love!  It is called Muscle Milk Light from GNC.  I get the vanilla cream and add ice and frozen stawberries or even a banana and it tastes great.  I do not mind drinking them at all.   Karen

I've heard good things about Muscle Milk. Strawberry smoothie... yum! I still think protein is of the Devil! I'll swear it forever after last night. Thanks for the ideas.

I buy the EAS Chocolate from Sams or the Unjury Unflavored from my doc.  They are both pretty decent.   And man..  it was much easier before to get in 70 grams than it is now with an itty bitty stomach.  LOL  Sorry you are feeling bad though.  That is not a good feeling.

Unjury is what I have with a random mix of others. So far I've tried some of each all to the same effect.  Gonna slap some tofu in the blender with some yogurt if all else fails!

Thanks for the suggestions. We have a tub of EAS here you could have... more power to you if you can choke it down.  WONDER WOMAN! Mr. Weight trainer here thought he would supplement and bulk up. So, I tried it thinking it might work for this.  I don't have any know food allergies, but this is getting ridiculous! Can I just get you to drink it for me? Please, Please, PLEASE!  Glad to see you are doing so well. Hugs

Are you using Carnation No Sugar Added with FF Milk? Thats what DrM required for the two week liquid pre-op. If you are drinking the pre-made switch to the powder. If you are using protein powder I would say its time to change to a different brand... shakes and sweats sounds like you may be getting too much sugar. I would check the nutritional information and make sure you are sticking to 2%, FF milk or Light Soy Milk.

Tried the CIB, same thing. It was Unjury chicken broth that set this one forth. I put half the sample pack in a cup of cream of chicken. Didn't taste bad... did not sit well. I didn't hurt that bad in labor!  I've tried milk and soy, same both ways.  Plain nonfat yogurt has 12g per serving. I have to 'eat' to take my meds so I have to do at least 4 a day.  I think I'll be ok if I use broth for some of my liquids. Dr. Lowe was great. He said we would figure something out.  Thanks for the suggestions.

My friend and mentor from school got the surgery done in Rocky Mount recently, and he recommended BeneProtein. It's supposed to be tasteless, like BeneFiber...? I have not tried it yet, I'm still pre-op. But that might be a good option. Good luck! I'm a bit anxious about the protein powder game after the operation...

Thanks for the tip, I'll see if I can find it. I'm swinging about 40g through yogurt and broth. I think I will avid cream of chicken or anything for a while!  Good luck in your journey. I check your blog now and then. You are a beautiful person. Good luck. Hugs
