So I had my surgery on February 14 (YEAH I AM ALMOST 6 MONTHS OUT!!)....  which means that I should be having a 6 month follow up appointment RIGHT?!?!  Well I have been calling Enoch's office all week. Monday and Tuesday their phone system was messed up and no one could get through.  Then yesterday BINGO... (ooops wait premature excitement)  I get Wonder Woman on the phone and tell her that I had my surgery on blah blah blah blah and blah and I need to schedule my  month appointment and I also need to have whatever orders sent to my PCP for labwork, and I also need to find out why my PCP still hasn't received documentation stating that I had this surgery in the first place!  Well the briain surgeon on the other end tells me that she doens't know if I need a 6 month appointment, to hold on while she asks the bariatric coordinator.....   I can tell that this is going to be a looooooong process just from the holding on the phone.  She comes back and says that the bariatric coordinator doesn't know and she doesn't either.  Now at this point I am like WTF is going on in your office, how does NO ONE know that EVERY bariatric patient has a 6 month follow-up appointment, not even what the labs are that I need to have done prior to it!!  So I left a message for Dr. Enochs to call me back so we can get some things clear.  Fast Forward to today.  I started typing this bulletin and my phone rang.... it's Kia from Dr. Enoch's office, weird I thought I asked for Dr. Enochs to call me back.  I aksed her if she was calling me in regards to my message and she said yes.  The conversation proceeded into a mish mash of conflicting information.  I asked her what i needed to do, and when I need to do it.  She asked me for my PCPs fax number...  yeah I have that right here in my phonebook let me get that for you... are you kidding me!  So then she said well I can fax it to you and you can take it to them.  I think this is DEFINITELY the best option so I can have it in my little hands.... So I asked her when do I need to make my appointment to see Enochs?  She said to me oooh well you should have done that in April when you were here... and how was I supposed to know that, did anyone say anything about that then, no, did anyone give me a reminder sticker for when I was leaving to make an appointment?, no to that too... so she said ohh okay... and Scheduled me for Aug 14.  I then asked when do I need to get my lab work done so that the results will be in for my appt with enochs... she swears that it will only take 1-2 days.... I think I will make my appointment with my PCP AT LEAST a week or Two before...  I can't wait to see Dr Enochs and have a wonderful conversation with him about his office support... they need some serious assessment and training...WOW

LMAO at Wonder Woman LOL that sounds like 99.9 percent of any medical office I have ever dealt with. No one knows a damn thing and no one gives a crap. Im REALLY feel for you because thats how my entire WLS pre op experience has been since the start. I wish you the best of luck in getting things straight.

Oh no don't be scared... Dr Enochs is great!  He is top notch as far as I am concerned.  His "new" office staff is a whole other story though.  My suggestion to you is make sure you keep copies of EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING!  I am not the only one who has had these kind of issues... my mom had this surgery with him (july 06) and she has nothing but positives for Enochs... and at the same time she has a whole plethora of subjects to discuss with Dr Enochs at her next appointment about his office staff.  My aunt who also had the sugery with him in December 06 has had the same issues.  So it is not just me, maybe I am just more aware of proper office procedures since I run a very tight ship in my office.  Or maybe it really is that messed up over there... I am just glad I had my surgery before he moved offices!

Wow, I am so sorry!  You did have a bad experience!  I will say this, I had surgery shortly after you and my appointments are every six weeks and they call everytime for a reminder.  They set it up immediately at checkout.  There are some new girls in there that are learning, so hopefully you can give them the benefit of the doubt. I was in there today, and she said your six month checkup is in 4 weeks.  She gave me a perscription for all my labs and asked where I wanted them to be done or if I wanted my PCP to do them and that they needed to be done at least 1 week prior to my appointment.  I took the order right over to Labcorp close to the office and got them done immediately.  I have nothing but wonderful things to say about his new office and staff.  Just wanted to share another point of view.

Every six weeks???  WHAT?  I have not ever had an every six weeks nothing!!  The only appointment I had was 2 weeks after my surgery and then 2 months after my surgery and now at 6 months.  Hmm different strokes for different folks I guess?  Or maybe it was something that changed when he changed staff?  I don't know but there is yet another great example of the lack of consistency in the care of patients.  And as far as the benefit of the doubt... they got that with my mom's 6 month appointment that had to be rescheduled FOUR times....  and this is the first time that ANY labs have been done on me since my surgery.... So now you tell me, is my rant justified?  I would say definitely YES!!

Please dont mis-understand, you have had a bad experience therfore you are justified, I just wanted to share my experience for any newbies considering Dr. Enochs.  He is an awesome surgeon and wouldnt want anyone to think badly becuase of his new office staff.  I thought his previous office staff was horrible and think this is much improved.....lol  Didnt mean to offend, like I said just wanted to share another point of view.  Hope your doing well!
