update on Amyk1971

Hi All,      I went up to Cape Fear Hospital to meet and see Amyk who had her surgery this morning. She is doing pretty well. She said her surgery took about three hours and she seemed to be doing pretty well. Unfortunately they don't have her on the morphine pump. She was asking for pain meds but her doctor forgot to write the order for them so they were attempting to page him do she could have her meds. This is not something good for the doctor to forget...lol. Otherwise she was in great spirits and doing real well. Anyhow, just wanted to let you know. She will probably be back posting early next week. Lisa 

They should have standing orders for the bariatric patients!  Is the hospital a Center of Excellence, by any chance?  Glad to hear she's doing well. 

Wow.. pain meds seem like a given for any patient who has had any surgery.  Mercy.  Glad to hear she is doing well in spite of no pain medication!

Poor thing I feel so bad she had no pain meds. How in the world can any surgeon forget that? Thanks for the update Lisa glad shes doing good!
