Prayers Needed Please!

I am scheduled for surgery on the 31st. I have been following my liquid diet and have lost 10 pounds so far.  Problem is I have a sinus infection that may delay my surgery.  I have been taking antibiotic since Monday, and feeling better, however, I still am coughing and runny nose.  I need to be healed by Monday. Karen,  My thoughts and prayers are with you for quick healing and for your surgery!!!  Sinus infections are no fun!!!  Congratulations on your 10 lbs!!!  That's great!  Keep the faith!

Hi Karen, Congrats on the wt loss and surviving liquid phase WHILE feeling under the weather. If you do not have any contraindications, you may want to pick up some OTC Guafenisin- it is available in pill form in the cold med section and it's an expectorant ( the active ingredient in Robitusin). You can usually take it safely with DM, HTN, etc....It will loosen up the congestion. It's quick and short acting, so you could take it for say Thur and Fri, stopping on Sat by the latest....May want to call the surgeon's office tomorrow and see if they approve?....It will often help break things up quicker. Sheila, Thanks for the info. I will try and find it.  I spoke to surgeon on Tuesday and he told me that I should be ok by 31.  I am feeling better.  Still getting "things out".  I am keeping the faith! Karen

Hopefully with time and info that Sheila gave you, you'll be able to kick your sinus infection and go on with your surgery Tuesday. Whatever happens, I know that your doctor will make sure to do the surgery when you are in the best position to come through with flying colors.

Congratulations on the 10lb. weight loss!  I'll keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.  Those sinus infections can make you feel really bad.  Rest as much as you can and believe in all the prayers that are being said for you!  Good luck with your surgery on the 3lst.    Your friend,  Bobbie
